Topic: I recently got a PS3 but I can't seem to get the controller to work.

I have a Afterglow controller with it's USB Dongle, it works fine on my laptop but when I turn the PS3 on even with the dongle plugged it the 4 lights on the controller keep flashing while the dongle stays solid.
If the controller turns off the dongle light starts flashing. the screen displays a message telling me to plug a controller in and press the PS button. (The controller doesn't have a USB port)

The PS3 is a 80gb CECHK01

I am a hundred percent sure that you need to connect the controller via a USB cable and then press the PS button.

@wafflecat The controller must be connected through a cable in order to be paired for the first time

And if the controller doesn't have a USB port on it?
