Topic: How Do I Get My PSN Account Back?

I'm desperate. I've been trying for four hours now to get help from Sony support. I'm fighting tears. I'm on the verge of crazy. I don't know what to do.

3 times in the last 24 hours, somebody has changed my PSN sign-in ID (email address.) The first two times support helped me change it back. Today, whenever I get ahold of a chat agent and tell them what's going on, they copy and paste a response that says "to maintain security of the account, we cannot make further changes." And then, I kid you not, they immediately disconnect me. Don't even give me a chance to respond. 4 times this has happened.

And now, when I try to contact chat support, I'm blocked by an error message that says they "looks like you've contacted us recently. sorry we weren't able to help you. please try again later."

Every time I try phone support, it dead ends in a message that says due to high call volume they cannot take my call. And I'm disconnected.

I'm at the end of my pitiful rope over here. Feeling like I wanna throw a chair through my dining room window.

How do I get my account back?? How do I even have a conversation with an agent where I don't get immediately disconnected?

Any help or advice would be pretty much invaluable.

''The first two times support helped me change it back. '' - After the first time , you should've changed your email entirely to something new and your password . & their support chat is unreliable , i recommend always calling them instead .

Try calling them from a different cell number , and just throwing this out there - maybe call support in a different region ? i think its worth a try , try anything to get your account back . And when you get your account back , change everything .

I live in the US so they're still open for another hour , i think they close @ 5PM PST .

"After the first time , you should've changed your email entirely to something new and your password"

Thanks for the hindsight wisdom. At the time, changing my email address would have seemed excessive. Not even playstation recommends that. You'd think changing a password would be sufficient.

"i recommend always calling them instead"

Like I said, every time I call I get immediately get disconnected due to high call volume. I finally realized that if I choose the "restore account" option and call with a support code, I can at least get on hold. I've now been on hold fo 84 minutes. Can't say I'm optimistic about phone support amounting to much.

"maybe call support in a different region?"

How? There's only one support number.

Unfortunately nobody will be able to help you directly here as this is a fan site and it's not connect in any way to Sony.

The only thing I can suggest I to keep trying to contact them by phone or email, and explain the situation to them.

@Tasuki Obviously. I was more hoping somebody else had been in this situation and knew a more effective way to handle it than to relentlessly and futilely try to talk to chat agents that refuse to help me, or repeatedly call a call center that never accepts calls.

That said, under the guise of "restoring my account," and after a 94 minute hold time, I finally got an agent on the phone last night. The best they could do was "escalate" the issue to specialists. She said they would be contacting me via email in 7-10 business days. Not gonna hold my breath.

Meanwhile, not only can I not play games I downloaded from PS-Now, but now some a-hole has full access to my PSN account, and Sony couldn't care less. This is pretty absurd.

@scottk Unfortunately as I said the only one who can handle it is Sony themselves. I know it's frustrating but just be patient and explain the situation to them, Just wait for the email and go from there. If the email doesn't come with in the 10 business days which would be August 12 then call them again. Have you tried reaching out to them on social media, Twitter, Facebook etc. Other then that that's the only thing you can do at this point.

@Tasuki Yes, as I already acknowledged, I'm aware that only Sony can fix it. I'm here to see if anybody knows how I can get them to do so, given how unwilling and unreachable they are.

Yeah I tried both tweeting and DMing them on Twitter. No response to either. Shocker.
