Hi PushSquare, just came from NintendoLife ! Anyways, I am very interested in the PS4, as the Wii U simply can't keep up with the Third Party titles available. However, I am a bit confused on how to create a PSN account and what information is required:
-Is a credit card required to create a PSN account?
-Can you make your age and other personal information private (on a PSN master account)?
Thanks guys for your help, and I hope to be gaming on PS4 soon .

My friends think I'm crazy when they see me play NES games even though I'm fourteen :P.

No you do not need Credit Card info to create a PSN account, and yes your personal information can be set to private on the PS4.

Hey NinGamer, thanks for visiting us!

To answer you questions, no, you do not need a credit card to create a PSN account. All you need is an active email address, and you may have to fill in a few details such as your home address.

As for private information, none of that is displayed to other PSN users if that's what you mean. You'll need to enter your date of birth when you create an account, but be aware that if you enter your age as younger than 18, you won't be able to play some downloadable games on that account, as you'll be below the age rating.

I hope that helps!

EDIT: Post above is right, as well. On PlayStation 4, you can display a number of things about you on your profile such as your age, or you can set everything to private -- the choice is yours.
