Last night, I was playing a match of Rainbow 6 Siege with a friend of mine. Everything was going fairly well until the second round. Until I get team killed for absolutely no reason. I brushed it off until the second round when, I was set on fire by the same dude, for again absolutely no reason, after being set on fire I killed him back. Thats when his friend came and tried to kill me, since theres reverse friendly fire if you do certain amount of damage to teammate in siege without headshotting them, he accidentally killed him self. After this, I texted him saying "Gay asf for that dude, why are you tking me". To which he just responded "enjoy your ban" before mocking me and saying "why you tk me". For the rest of the match him and his friend play yin and blitz to flash me at the beginning of the round, and then they proceeded to stand infront of me and block me from getting to places. This morning I woke up to my psn account being temp suspend for "breaking code of conduct" doesn't this seem unfair considering I was the one being harrassed?
Yeah so you would totally be eligible for a ban. The people team killing you are being pillocks but you responded with a homophobic slur.. so yeah, that contravenes the code of conduct.

@Rudy_Manchego I'm not sure I'd call "gay" an inherently homophobic slur since I have a friend who is a proud member of the LGBTQ community and refers to himself as being gay. That said I completely understand why his message was flagged, but those a$$hats should be permabanned for harassment and bullying, while a short temporary ban should be the worst the OP faces. I technically fall within LGBTQ myself being asexual, "no romantic feelings towards either gender" in case you are thinking I might potentially be anti-LGBTQ I most certainly am not lol.
@TowaHerschel7 Oh not at all. The main thing about it from the Sony T&C's is the intent of the word. I'd suggest that the context of the word being used above would be more than enough to flag a temp ban. Describing toxic behaviour as gay is, in my mind, using it as a slur. Also agree that gamers that harass and bully should also be monitored and banned of course and that is utterly unacceptable.

@Rudy_Manchego If it helps soothe you a little, I myself am Bi-Sexual and currently do have a boyfriend. While I do think I probably shouldnt have texted him, I believes its highly un-fair that he gets away with this, with no recouse. His first message to me was "enjoy your ban kid" after I messaged him, so after that it was super obvious he was baiting for people to text him, and then get them banned. It kinda highlights the faults in the report system, because if you get reported, theres no way to show context to any given situation, which is extremely important in these cases. I have the full game recorded, but I cant do anything since theres no apeal.
@TheLightSpirit I couldn't leave, I was playing ranked, I already had left an unranked earlier, so I wouldve faced a 24 hour siege ban. But your right, I absolutely fell for his bait.
@AkiraMST Hey, no offence to you and am non insinuating anything about your values but my point is that another user has text evidence of you using a term that could be considered offensive which is easily reported.
Will 100% agree that you toxic behaviour in games is a massive problem and reporting it hard and inconsistent. No excusing the bad behaviour of those players.

@RogerRoger My issue is in this situation isn't that I'm banned, it's the fact that I'm the only one banned from this. Looking back on our messages, combined with the footage from our game, it's obvious he's being blatantly toxic in game to people in order to bait people into messaging him, and then reporting them. He's taking advantage of a system sony has in place in order to protect people, for the purpose of trolling, and theres no way to stop him.
