It is far too hot and humid here in the UK right now, so we are closing the blinds and sitting in front of a fan turned up to max as we play video games this weekend. This is what's entertaining us in between ice cream and BBQs.
Jamie O'Neill
The 16th June was the 11-year anniversary of my favourite E3 conference, Sony's 'PlayStation E3 Experience - 2015 Press Conference', so it's my tradition to play a standout game from the show. Now, 11 years later I plan to replay the opening of Batman: Arkham Knight, which was originally shown off at this iconic event.
Liam Croft
Following on from my Opinion piece earlier in the week, I'm still playing Immortals of Aveum. I quite like it! This is what's keeping me busy until Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced rolls around.
Stephen Tailby
I've found myself playing Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (via the Requiem collection). It's one of those all-time classics that just totally passed me by, and I've always wanted to check out this series. I'll continue exploring the castle with Alucard this weekend.
That's what we're playing this weekend, but how about you? Post your gaming picks in the comments below.

After the refreshing Bloodborne run I am going to play some casual and easier games
Finally I will play Indiana Jones and the Great Circle!!! My first Switch 2 game!
On the side I will have I Have NO Mouth and I Must Scream + retro Super Castlevania IV!
Have amazing weekend people!!!
FF16. I have only played the original FF7 and must say this one is more action game the rpg.
I like it but I understand the comments that it's not a FF game.
Installed Pragmata for when I'm done with FF16.
Hell let loose. A couple of matches.
Have a great weekend!
Dragon Warrior (NES) - I now have Leather Armour and a Shield. I'm now saving up for a Copper Sword and then heading North.
Jet Car Stunts (Windows Phone) - Nice to play this in between grinding for levels on DW.
Trucking 3D (Windows Phone) - I'm finally at the end now, will finish up on Sunday.
Busy weekend but if I get the chance I’d like to make a start on my second playthrough of Metro 2033 Redux. Finished my Enlightenment run on Survivor last night and while it’s definitely aged and has its flaws… overall the atmosphere, narrative and execution of stealth-from-the-shadows won me over. Will be 25 plats within the first 6 months of 2026 if I manage it before the end of June.
Downloading Dirt Rally 2.0 in time for the server shut down next month.
Finally be able to play Career mode offline.
Adventures Of Elliot on PS5.
Awesome game. Loving it.
Rolling dice, managing gambits and building confidants in Baldur's Gate 3, FFXII and Persona 5 Royal.
I'll be finishing Bioshock 2.
Its been my final week before summer holidays, so a bit more busy than usual but I still managed to play quite a bit 🙂
Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight - I've finished the story, which was pretty good actually for a Lego game, and I'm now mopping up collectibles (they sure did put a lot of those in there, didn't they.... 😵). Its a really good game imo, very good gameplay and fighting, Arkham is great and fun to explore, and playing co-op adds even more fun. Some of the collectibles are fun to do, like solving the puzzles and riddles, but others just need picking up and as mentioned way too many. Still, I'll chip away until that platinum is mine but it'll probably take weeks 🙂
CoD Vanguard - Finally they dropped a CoD game on gamepass. Now, I'd been warned the campaign in this one is bad but I'm still a bit surprised that I after about 2 hours of play is actually considering dropping it. Its just lacking all of those ingridients that typically makes a CoD campaign good imo, and whats there is kind of boring (for CoD). The thing is its a shorts campaign, I'll need like 4 more hours to finish and my series S needs the attention so maybe I'll play some here and there until its done!
Now we're off on a trip, I'll be bringing the Portal and I have some games lined up that should be good to play on it 🙂 might have to get The Adventures of Elliot too, though. Liked the demo and the reviews are good so...
Have a great weekend!
Will be playing sweet FA this weekend. In Dublin for the weekend. Metallica last night and Metallica again on Sunday night!
As it's my first weekend in my 40s I shall be taking it easy this weekend some eafc 26 some resident evil requiem and probably some other third game happy weekend folks!
Also happy father's Day tomorrow to the dad's out there💪
Currently playing Disciples: Liberation at the moment. Had it in my backlog for about 4 years so it’s good to finally play it. 16 hours in and I’m really enjoying it so far
The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild: It's been a lot of fun revisiting this Hyrule and just taking my time collecting Koroks, solving Shrines, cooking various meals, or helping locals defend sheep. By far my favorite locale is Lurelin Village, this sleepy little seaside settlement that gradually opens up as you help the townsfolk more, but of course Goron City is chock-full of humorous inhabitants. I'm only 55 hours in and nowhere near finished after a week, and that suits me fine.
Dusted off the ol Switch OLED and started BotW again, on the commute and lunch break, as I'm just dog tired when I get home in the evening, so this has been the perfect gaming pivot 😄 I expect some wandering and shrines awaits across the weekend.
Have a boss weekend all 👍
Happy weekend everyone!
Main focus will be Adventures of Elliot (playing on Hard difficulty), whilst steadily grinding levels/money in Octopath Traveller 1 (to gear up and prepare for the chapter 2 bosses).
Enjoy your weekend y'all!
I'm playing the underrated the incredible sword of the vagrant.its looks like a vanillaware game it's such a good game.a hack and slash beat em up rpgs.vivian is a incredible protagonist. Silksong is progressing slowly, turns out it's very difficult.
Also Jurassic World Evolution 3 and FC26. Dinosaurs are almost as difficult to manage as footballers
Still on Death Stranding 2
Back on my 2nd run of the masterpiece Baldur's Gate 3. What. A. Game! Finding new things and people in the first area I never found the first time. And I don't know who can beat those complex dialogue trees with choices that could have a long term effect all the while looking so good. This is a game for the ages. Will continue in the altered world of Alan Wake 2. GTAV looking sweet again with that free upgrade. Plus any other game I feel like.
I'll be chasing down the last few folios in FF VII Rebirth. I have the platinum, but there are still those few little things left to do.
Finished 007 main story might try and go for the platinum now think it's mostly just the collectibles trophies i need. I'm also going to go back to Starfield and see if the crashes have been fixed or not.
@playstation1995 Never heard of Sword of the Vagrant, so i looked it up and it does look a lot like a Vanillaware game. And its only €2 at the moment since its on sale, so i grabbed it. Thanks for mentioning the game and have a great weekend!
I’m playing ‘get my son and all his crap home from uni’ followed by Destiny and Saros. And if I have time I’ll final start A Plague Tale: Requiem - it’s been sitting in the backlog for far too long.
Zenless Zone Zero, Granblue Fantasy Relink and Battlefield Hardline, I want to get a couple of the online trophies for the platinum before the servers shut down.
This weekend I’m still all in on First Light and Mouse PI. The former has gotten me back into the older film as well. Beyond that celebrating the daughter’s birthday.
If time allows I’ll keep attempting Sektori, which is slaughtering me and maybe for Father’s Day I’ll pick up either Legacy of Dark Knight or something else I’ve been meaning to purchase like Nioh 3. Enjoy the weekend all!
Blades Of Fire..
Finally beat Prophet in Saros, so ill be diving back into that as well as The Adventures of Elliot on Switch 2.
It's our first weekend opening a PS5, so it's mostly just been demos and getting a feel for things.
My wife thought Rise of the Ronin was okay, but wasn't convinced to spring for it. She loved Onimusha, but obviously that's not out for a bit. We were both a bit underwhelmed by My Time At Sandrock.
I played a small bit of Astro's Play Room and already fell in love with the little guy. I also saw RE2R is on discount, so I may grab that.
Other than that, FFVII Remake, but that's on my Switch 2.
We're also hoping to finish up Gilmore Girls this weekend. I haven't been as impressed as the cultural hype led me to believe.
I’ve hit a slight snag in Lego Batman:Dark knight. The Batman Ai refuses to simply stand on button to get a chest - apparently Batman is too good to simply stand on a button. So I’ve had to dig out an old controller to stand on a button for 4 seconds…..I love you Batman, but being a billionaire has changed you….😂😂😂
@playstation1995 absolute classic 'Married with Children'
When someone at work asks if i missed them, I follow up with the classic Al Bundy line "with every bullet yet!"
@Number09 beast of a game and easily the best rally game on PlayStation. The Colin mcrea dlc is an excellent although brutally challenging addition. Dirt rally 2.0 has always been playable offline and only needed the Internet for the online weekly challenges and multiplayer. I hope you enjoy it.
This weekend I’m working towards platinum on Ridge Racer on the Vita. Another quality Vita game that is somehow still online after 14 years 😁👊👏
I'm about to head out to the golf course for a round whilst the good weather holds out but I'll be on dirt rally 2.0 and marathon this weekend. Busy weekend for sport as its the grand prix,2nd major of the year and of course the world Cup football..have a great weekend everybody 👍
It’s Father’s Day weekend and… my wife already spoiled what she and the kids got me. I was expecting The Adventures of Elliot sort of, but no… She went and got me a Playdate, so I’ll be exploring the world of my new console this weekend.
And Dave the Diver: In the Jungle too. Definitely that one. Fantastic expansion to start.
@OpheliaDynamight by the demos you’ve tried, might I suggest Ghost of Yotei - best game I’ve played for a while! Oh and welcome to the ps5 and all that…
I think I'm going to buckle down and finish my vehicle gate so that I can move my trailer to the back yard.
Speaking of the trailer, I replaced the broken deck board, and now the rest just looks terrible. I may just go ahead and do all of them. I also don't like the connectors that the previous owner used when splicing in new lights, so I may also go around and re-splice all of the connections with solder and heat shrink.
For games, I started SMT III Nocturne. What was I thinking? I have a strategy for Matador. A few more levels, and I should be able to go try again.
I never did get around to RE Zero last week. I am in a RE mood, but I may switch gears. I have 136 hours in RE2 Remake, and I don't have the platinum. Maybe I'll go for that.
Lastly, I was thinking about what Metroidvania I'd want to go to next, and it occurred to me that I never actually beat Super Metroid. How embarrassing. That will be my palette cleanser.
Have a good weekend, and a happy Father's Day to my fellow dads.
@psmr would it be okay to start with Tsushima? She fell in love with the art styles of both games, but obviously we didn't have a PS4 and only now have a 5.
She had also heard it was a rather difficult game. She's not quite on the "Souls-like difficulty" train, but doesn't mind a challenge either.
This weekend will be full of gaming. I'm close to finish a normal run of The Last of Us Part II Rem., and after that I will start a chronological one. I played this game on PS4 so many years ago, so I forgot a few moments.
I will advance in the excelente Trails in The Sky First Chapter. I am in the final chapter of the game already, and I can see that I will realy fall in love with this series. It's so good, compelling and deep!!
More Assassin's Creed Shadows, with the DLC Claws of Awaji. There is still much to do in this game, so carry on. I think it's the AC game with more assassination targets hehe
Have a great weekend my friends!!!
Same as it's been for a while now...
PS5 - 007: First Light
Switch 2 - Pragmata
I can't believe I still haven't finished Lego Batman, soooo many collectables, too many IMO but great game none the less.
Fingers crossed I get it finished and can crack on with 007!
Plus plenty of football, annoying we have to wait all day to watch a match though, bl**dy time zones!
Happy gaming folks
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and The Adventures of Elliott.
I'm carrying on with my casual replay of Ghost of Yotei. Actually been enjoying this playthrough a lot more than my first for some reason.
Also booted up Witcher 3 the other day which is going to be my main focus for a while now. It's been so long since I played this game but I was instantly drawn into the world/characters upon playing it again. It's such a classic and is still putting most games to shame in terms of it's writing. Geralt's movement is still as dreadful as I remember though 😅
Will also be dropping in and out of Marathon throughout the weekend too. Still loving it. Still worried about it's future.
Happy weekend, folks!
@OpheliaDynamight yeah you could honestly start with either tbh as there are only very loose connections and around 300 years between them.
They’re not particularly difficult tbh… and not souls-likes neither. They’re more akin to a modern Assassins Creed game tbh… only with an extra layer (or two 😉) of quality.
Playing Grindstone on handheld while listening through a lot of Yacht Rock and also the newest albums by Osees, Boards of Canada, Porches etc.
@psmr thanks for the help! I may go ahead and get Tsushima and get it downloaded before she wakes up!
Though it’s not something I’d normally go for, I’ve been playing Dredge and absolutely loving it. It’s a nice, chill fishing game with some fun mechanics. VERY enjoyable! And it was on PS+ Extra so it was good to be able to use my subscription for a change. Plus I got both DLC’s for it for less than $7 as a nice little bonus. 👍🏽 Hope everyone has a great weekend with their games! No rage quitting! 💪🏽😉👍🏽
@OpheliaDynamight hope you both enjoy
Dragon’s Dogma Dark Arisen. Going all in till the much anticipated Dragon’s Dogma 2 DLC.
I've been playing The Adventures of Elliot and so far I'm enjoying it with roughly 16 hrs counting the demo progress. The dungeon bosses are highlights. Enjoy the weekend all!
Last Sunday I got the platinum for 007 First Light. While I [patiently] waited for The Adventures of Elliot to release, I was hankering for an RPG to play. I decided to replay The Witcher 3 for the fifth time, this instance being on Nintendo Switch 2.
I want to apologize to Elliot — you’re going to have to wait much longer to be played. I’m once again absorbed into this brutal, yet gorgeous Continent. Being able to take this adventure on the go is a godsend, and feels tailor made for that type of experience.
It’s also much better than I remembered; it ages like fine wine. There isn’t much more that can be said about this game that hasn’t been said before over the last 13 years. The writing is top notch, the characters are compelling, the main and side missions are some of the most in-depth, multilayered quests I’ve ever experienced, and exploration is consistently rewarding.
In short, this game is a bonafide masterpiece in every facet. Thirteen years later it still stands above most games today. Before Red Dead Redemption 2 and Elden Ring there was The Witcher 3. And thank God for that.
Playing:
Have a nice weekend everyone 🍻
Expedition 33 will be my main game for the weekend. With maybe practicing some combos in Tekken 8.
Finishing my Trail 1st chapter remake second run for the platine (hopefully).
Probably some SF6 too ^^
FF 16 a d Baldurs gate 3🙂
Apart from the usual staples - Crimson desert (160 hours and counting), and Forza Horizon 6 - I also added some new games to my rotation this week. Docked - love operating the vehicles and moving cargo around, not such a big fan of the management stuff, like processing and TEUs, so tend to pay for the AI to take care of it lol. The adventures of Elliot demo. Only played an hour or so but liking it so far. Reminds me of old Zelda games. I’ve heard it’s quite a generous demo, so won’t pull the trigger on the full game just yet.
Sker ritual bought this in a sale a while back, but only just started it. Feels very reminiscent of the old CoD zombie games so far, which is a good thing.
Hoping to fire up the remaining 3 generators in Mina the Hollower, and continue Bond’s pursuit of 009 in First Light. Both games have been good fun thus far. Happy gaming!
@Nalim yeah I been playing it for the last couple of days I saw it on gamecross channel. And I just bought 13 sentinels and thsts vanillaware and I saw the video I was like wow this game looks interesting and I bought it and yes sword of the vagrant is inspired by Oden sphere leifrasir..it's a good game the sword of the vagrant. Word up son
@VanguardKaiser yes definitely al bundy is,a legend.haha.hes insults are legendary. Word up son
Diving into the JUNGLE with Dave
I just finished Elden Ring and Shadow of Erdtree.
My next game will be Wuchang Fallen Feathers
Remnant 2 at the moment maybe go back to Wuchang.
Ive been on The Adventures of Elliot. I like Sqaure Enix's new Action Adventure. Ive clocked more than 10 hours in and Im looking forward for every new session. And for my MP fix - Dead By Daylight.
I’m still replaying CrossCode, I’ve been thinking about it since I first played it back in 2020 and it’s still such a brilliant little SNES-like RPG, tricky combat at times, but the puzzles are brilliant. I’ve put over 100 hours into Graveyard Keeper and I’m starting to think I may have a problem and need to start a self help group.
I really want to get some new games, but I’m just not feeling it at the moment. I’ve had Dying Light for a month after getting a new graphics card, and haven’t touched it. I do really want to get Pragmata, RE9 and a few others when it clicks again
I’m playing Absolum. A solid 8/10 game, but I’ve beaten the final boss now and am about to get into the ordeals, and I just wish two things - trophies were added for finishing these challenges, and that the assist mode wasn’t included. The worst thing about the game is the constant feeling that you’re wasting time by not tuning things to be more favourable. In fact my hardest challenge so far has been to keep everything on default, which I’ve so far managed to do.
Granblue Fantasy Relink and Where Winds Meet.
Granblue is such a lovely cosy action RPG and weirdly the same can be said abut WWM.
I'm also playing a bit of FFXI because I got a month cheap and it's great for unwinding.
Was able to wrap up Ghost of Yotie and RE4R this week. Working on DQVIIR now. Chipping away at that backlog!
So far I’ve mostly been playing Luminees Arise and Demon School but I’ve got in a bit of Helldivers 2 and GT7. I’m planning of playing Demeo x DnD and Pragmata this weekend as well.
Me.and the kids are playing Rocket League again this weekend guys!
I got all moved in to the new place, but do not have my usual shelves for the collection set up. All I have here rn is more modernish on a sad closet shelf lol.

I think I will go with some Roguecraft on the Evercade, Sektori PS5, Tower 57 on Retroid via Winlator, and Twilight Princess Dusk.
Also, I didn't know that Parking Garage Rally Circuit is out on consoles!
Wanted to replay RDR2 but couldn't because my PS5 disc drive kept on getting a read error.
Probably going to to buy it again on digital as it's on sale.
Skull and Bones.
I finally started Resident Evil Requiem. Tried the VR mod initially but got motion sickness real fast! Back to regular mode and boy is it gorgeous. I might try and persuade my wife to watch Mixtape as I play through too. I started it then thought she'd dig it. Happy gaming y'all!
Greetings fellow video game enthusiasts. I'm on holiday with my Switch 2. I downloaded the Adventures of Elliot demo and played that a bit, looks very promising. I also downloaded the Starfox demo so will try that out. Happy world cup and gaming time everyone.
KCD2 is consuming my life. One of best RPGs I’ve ever played. I like that you can almost always avoid combat, because I’ve been too distracted to truly skill up
Instead I’m a hard core alchemist and it’s a real money spinner
@Duck_Farmer Put the disc in and put the console into rest mode and turn it back on. sometimes the drive starts spinning up and your disc will be recognized
Golf. 9 on Saturday, 18 today. As for video games, Crimson Desert is the neverending story.
@Eadgar The most underrated game I can think of. Bioshock 2 is a riot.
FF16 is on the playlist.
The start of the game is quite epic.
I think the sections after teaming up with Jill dips in quality. The Phoenix Gate-dungeon is a bit underwhelming.
