Battlefield 3's scooped up first-week sales stronger than any other EA title.

EA has announced that according to internal estimates, Battlefield 3 has sold more than five million copies since its launch last week. The most amazing thing is that it's the biggest launch in the publisher's history. Like, ever.

So far players have executed 73 million saviour kills, 48 million revives, and destroyed 67 million vehicles. Who else loves statistics like that?

“From Tokyo to Los Angeles, Sydney to London, millions of fans have been playing all weekend long — we are overwhelmed by the global response to Battlefield 3,” said Patrick Soderlund of EA.

“It is extremely gratifying to deliver an entertainment experience that delights our fans, and to have the opportunity to introduce new people to the franchise. Already, we are seeing unprecedented play times and online activity which is very rewarding. This launch solidifies Battlefield as a leading entertainment brand."

Nuts stuff. So who's playing Battlefield 3 right now? What are your thoughts?
