One of the most relevant stories to come out of Sony's Tokyo Game Show 2016 press conference, Nioh finally has a release date. The hardcore action role-playing game was supposed to launch this year on PlayStation 4, but given that we've heard no news regarding a confirmed date over the last few months, a 2016 release was looking more and more unlikely.
As such, it comes as no real surprise to hear that Nioh will be launching on the 9th February 2017. What's more, it'll be releasing on that date worldwide, so the West won't have to wait to get in on the action.
Nioh only adds to an already packed first quarter for gaming, but will you be charging into the fray? Draw your sword in the comments section below.

February 9th is the same week as Persona 5 in US and EU... Dunno if it's gonna hit that date worldwide, cuz pretty much every Japanese game fan under the sun is getting that game, let's be honest. And indeed, Q1 next year is packed with awesome games, Hitman physical edition, Horizon, Sniper Elite (or was it Sniper Ghost Warrior? I don't remember but it was the same day as Persona), Kingdom Hearts, Danganronpa (in Japan at least), For Honor. The list goes on.
It's so strange to have that blonde guy with western features on a medieval Japan setting.
@fchinaski It's based on a real person - William Adams, the first English navigator who in 1600 was the first of his nation to reach Japan. Found that out after watching one of Playstation Access's Nioh gameplay clips.
@WanderingBullet Ah, cool! Didn't know that. Thanks!
Do anybody knows how much hard this game will be? I don't like Bloodborne or Demon's/Dark Souls due to its hard level. I hope there will be an easier mode or something.
C'mon same week as persona 5? Wait a month at least!
@fchinaski No problem. I too found it quite strange myself initially…lol
