Arguably this week's biggest PlayStation 4 release is Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below. The action role-playing game is a charming and very well executed title that we've come to adore, and the good news is that there are plans in place to keep you coming back to its colourful world slime and slime again.
Indeed, Square Enix has set up a bunch of weekend events that'll last until the 31st January next year. By connecting your PlayStation 4 to the internet and hopping on Heroes, you'll be able to earn bonus experience points and rare items by playing the game at certain times.
Here's a quick rundown of what you can expect:
Every week (Saturday) midnight to 12 noon PDT
- Bonus EXP campaign – During the event the amount of EXP earned will be increased by 20%!
Every week (Saturday) 12 noon to 11:59 pm PDT
- Rare item campaign – During the event the chances of obtaining rare items will be doubled!
Every week (Sunday) midnight to 12 noon PDT
- Bonus gold campaign – During the event the amount of gold earned will be increased by 20%!
Every week (Sunday) 12 noon to 11:59 pm PDT
- Bonus EXP campaign – During the event the amount of EXP earned will be increased by 20%!

Sounds quite good, really liking the sound for this.
Isn't it getting free dlc?
Such a cool idea.
@Not-Another-Ad The DLC (which was free in Japan) is already included on the disc - you just need to unlock it through the story.
Ooohhhh... Seriously, I get most gamers work weekdays or are in school, but must ALL the events take place on weekends?
As someone who works Friday-Monday, this annoys me to no end. (And with peak coming up, I can't switch to a different shift, not that I'd want to, as the Monday-Thursday shift isn't available at my building)
@ShogunRok How hard is it to get rare items in the game? Also, how would you rate them (EXP, Gold and Rare Item) priority wise in terms of difficulty to gain/get?
@WanderingBullet Well, once you complete story missions in a new area, you can travel back there and just farm for exp., items, and gold. You tend to get gold pretty fast by doing this as long as you kill monsters quickly, but your party don't level up that fast - it's certainly not like a traditional Warriors game where you grow four or five levels after clearing one stage. In that sense, you do have to grind a bit if you feel that you're too weak.
As for items, I've honestly never had any problems. Monster descriptions tell you which enemies drop which items, so it's just a case of heading out and grabbing what you need.
Overall, I'd say gold and items are generally the easiest things to gather if you're busy grinding for them. Whereas levelling up can seem to take a while.
@ShogunRok Gotcha. Its nice that they have two Bonus EXP campaign events during the events.
"You tend to get gold pretty fast by doing this as long as you kill monsters quickly." - Are the rewards are time based?
Thanks for the answers, btw.
