SOCOM 2 PlayStation 2 PS2

Ah, remasters: some loathe 'em, some love 'em. Whichever camp you fall into, it doesn't sound like they're going to stop anytime soon – especially when people are campaigning for more to get made. SOCOM 2 is the latest target of fans, as a group of military aficionados rally around the forgotten franchise to get its second instalment ported to the PlayStation 4.

To be fair, this was a very popular game on the PlayStation 2 – almost incredibly so given the rudimentary online functionality incorporated into Sony's classic console. It did get sequels – several across both the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable – but none quite captured the spirit of the second game. Zipper Interactive, the series' developer, was eventually closed.

The push appears to be targeting Gio Corsi and his #BuildingTheList campaign, which seems to be a mistake as he primarily deals with external projects. Either way, there's a petition through here which has already amassed almost 1,000 signatures. And if it fails – well, there's always H-Hour: World's Elite on the way which looks exactly the same.
