Sony's mad futuristic animal mash-up is due out next year.

The PlayStation C.A.M.P. developed oddity was first announced way back in 2010, but Sony's been keeping the bizarre downloadable title caged since then.

Thankfully the Pomeranian sim lives, with Siliconera pointing out that Sony recently switched the game's release date to 2012 on its official website.

Tokyo Jungle takes place in a human-less alternate future, where the Japanese city has been transformed into a vicious wildlife wasteland. Players will assume the role of multiple animals, aiming to discover the truth behind mankind's disappearance.

It's a brilliant concept. There's a trailer after the break.
