Mediatonic: "WTF!? Mixes Shooting, Tower Defense & Courtroom--" Us: "SOLD!"

?</a> The studio behind the excellent (and hilarious) PlayStation Mini, Monsters (Probably) Stole My Princess, are back — with their trademark humour in tact. Who's That Flying!? (or WTF!? for short) promises to mix side-scrolling shooting with tower defence and courtroom action — WTF indeed!

The press release is no less "lol" worthy. It notes that "players take control of the mysterious and powerful creature known only as the Guardian of Earth".  Apparently “his steely eye and HYPER-POWERED LASER ARM have kept the citizens of Earth safe for generations (as well as proving a hit with the ladies)". Lucky chappy, eh?

“With all his awesome TALENT and FLAIR, surely it would be IMPOSSIBLE for a sudden and devastating invasion of colossal Doom Beasts to descend on the Earth’s cities and cause havoc without his knowledge? No. It’s not. And the fact that he was posing for photos at the time has nothing to do with it.”

So, so, so good. But it gets better.

"To save the Guardian Of Earth’s reputation, as well as the Earth itself, players must not only defend the cities from ravenous hordes of Doom Beasts but must also defend the Guardian of Earth against accusations of gross incompetence from the Galactic Council of Justice - and this is all BEFORE players can even start to get to the bottom of just who or what is really behind the invasion."

Oh man. The game promises 15 story levels, 4 infinite modes and 25 challenge levels. You can find out a bit more about the game on Mediatonic's website.

This game just shot right near the top of our most wanted. If you haven't already, check out our review for Monsters (Probably) Stole My Princess. It's brilliant.
