Turn 10 Can Talk About Nothing Else But How Much “Better” Forza 3 Is Than Gran Turismo 5

It's Time To Talk About Your Own Game Turn 10.

It's Time To Talk About Your Own Game Turn 10.

If talking about the competition shows insecurity then Turn 10 must be feeling pretty insecure right now. Ever since Forza 3 was announced at Microsoft’s press conference we’ve heard nothing about their game, only how much “better” it is than Gran Turismo 5.

During said conference Turn 10 constantly described their game as the “definitive racing game this generation” – a clear knock at Polyphony Digital’s franchise. Then when Polyphony Digital team members checked out a copy of Forza 3 and respectfully took notes, Turn 10 said the franchise was “stagnant”.

Speaking with Videogamer.com in a recent interview, Forza franchise director Dan Greenawalt said of Gran Turismo’s godfather Yamauchi:

“That said, as a fan of the series, he [Yamauchi] hasn’t done anything for me in years. So in many ways he’s handing the baton to me. He probably doesn’t see it that way, but I do, because I believe that I’m now taking what he ignited in me as a passion, and taking it to a much, much, much broader level. I’m not saying it’s necessarily larger yet, but definitely broader, younger, older, men, women. So I’m really excited.”

And alas, to top it all, CNET are running a poll on “the best racing game – Forza 3 vs GT5″ (how people can vote is beyond us, seeing as neither game is out) where, as directed by Turn 10’s forum, cast votes for the Forza franchise will be rewarded in the distribution of a rare car in Forza 2:

“We all know which game is [sic] we’d like to see win, so go here,” he says, “and vote for Forza Motorsport 3! Afterwards, come to this thread and post a message letting us know you’ve done it. We’ll gift you a random unicorn!”

Does this strike anyone as being a total farce? If Turn 10 are so confident in their product, why can’t they shut up about the “stagnant” Gran Turismo? We guess we’ll be able to compare the products when they’re both on the store shelves. You know like it should be?

Advice to those involved with the Forza franchise: shut the hell up before you embarass yourselves. We’re sure your game is fine, so why put down others?

yeah, GT5 has already been compared to forza 3, and even the prologue of GT looks 10 times better, with shot comparisons and in game comparisons. That said, I did like forza's rare care lineup way better, with Mclarens and Bugattis, its a perfect car lineup, unfortunately the Japanese seem to think as long as they get all their favourite crappy jap cars in the game it will be perfect. Does anyone remember playing with 70's and 80's japanese shitbuckets?

its called marketing, of course theyare going to say their game is the best. they cant exactly go on stage and say their game is the 2nd best or the worst can they? it could be better than gt5 or not. just gotta wait until they are both out

ok turn 10 talks about GT5 too much and how it's FZ3 better but just that, they talk TOO MUCH about GT5 but nothing from their own game, so... there is nothing of forza?

GT5 will be coming out after Forza 3, I think Yamauchi 'll hold back and wait to sum up teh competition, then wipe the floor with 'em. hehe!

Im getting sick and tired of this TURn 10 dev team, their reputation is been blasted in so many levels, and when both games actually do come out, its going to be like a kick in the ballz to Turn 10 if their product doe not deliver as they've promised. On thing is been confident in your product, another thing is been completely ignorant on whats been putting you in second place since you started.
