Nuh-Uh, Saints Row Drive-By Ain't Happening No More.

What were we saying about LinkedIn profiles being the best source for all the hot video game news these days? The resume of Scott Rogers, a creative manager for THQ, has revealed that the Saints Row franchise might not "drive-by" the PlayStation Network after all, as the downloadable spin-off Saints Row Drive-By has been cancelled.

This affects the XBOX Live Arcade release too, before commenters get all like, "Yo developers aren't supporting PSN because Sony can't stop getting hacked."

Similarly to Red Faction: Battlegrounds, Saints Row Drive-By was conceived in order to build hype for the upcoming retail release of Saints Row The Third. But Battlegrounds got pounded by critics, something that might just have put the boot into Drive-By. We still like the idea of shorter downloadable releases building the anticipation for blockbuster releases, but it has to be done properly. Perhaps THQ is reconsidering its stance on the model.
