If you've got the urge to replay Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced a few months on from your original playthrough in the summer, then Ubisoft has the perfect PS5 update for you: a New Game Plus mode is coming next week.

This has been a long time coming for PS5 players, as fans have been asking for a proper campaign replay option since day one, basically, back in July. From next week, they'll have their wish.

Ubisoft hasn't shared any details on how it'll be handling the New Game Plus mode, but presumably, it'll be business as usual: all your unlocked abilities, equipment, and most items will carry over into a second playthrough. Given the French publisher's strong post-launch support for all its titles, there might even be some elements exclusive to New Game Plus.

We should learn more in that regard next week.

New Game Plus gives you the chance to do a proper run-through of a game again that we thought was already "great" at release. In my 8/10-rated PS5 review, I said: "It’s as you remember it, except better, bigger, and markedly flashier in all the right ways. Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced demonstrates there’s still a charm to staying faithful."
