Monster Hunter Wilds Gets Permanent Price Cut Next Month Alongside 'Streamlined' Digital Editions 1

Publisher Capcom has announced some changes coming to its digital offerings of Monster Hunter Wilds.

The main thing that'll be of interest to most is that the base game is getting its price permanently reduced. It currently goes for $69.99/£64.99 on the PS Store, but as of 4th August, 2026, this price tag will shrink.

Capcom hasn't yet said what it'll change to, but if you were considering buying Wilds, you might want to hold fire for a couple of weeks.

On top of this, the company has said it'll be "streamlining the available options" for the game. It's outlined what's changing in the below posts:

Basically, the Deluxe and Premium Deluxe editions, plus the Cosmetic DLC Pass, are being discontinued on 3rd August and replaced with updated SKUs that include more recent DLC packs.

From that date, your options will be:

  • Standard edition (reduced in price)
  • Gold edition (includes base game + all DLC released so far)
  • Cosmetic DLC Collection (a bundle of all the DLC packs)
  • Extras Cosmetic DLC Pack (select paid DLC only previously available standalone)

I assume this is all preparation for the upcoming expansion, Ascendance, which was announced at Summer Game Fest last month. It's not due until next year, but I'm guessing this is all to encourage more people to hop in and give the main game a go before Ascendance changes things up.
