It’s always worth paying attention whenever Street Fighter 6 introduces a new character, and here’s our first look at Filipino fighter Yasmine, who moves at the speed of lightning.
Powered by the Philippines’ national martial art Eskrima, her kit seems to centre on fast, aggressive, close-up attacks; she looks like she’s going to be a real handful to deal with.
Her story revolves around her brother’s disappearance. Having been taught Eskrima by her grandfather, she decides to use her capabilities to discover what happened to her sibling.

One of Yasmine’s signature features is how she can transition into Bayani Mode, which effectively powers her up and rewards aggressive play. She’s designed to constantly be in her opponent’s face, landing hits.
The trailer includes a glimpse of her Outfit 2, which is inspired by Filipino school uniforms. Presumably she’ll have to wait until much later in the season for her Outfit 3.
Yasmine will kickstart Year 4 of Street Fighter 6 on 3rd August, where she’ll be followed by Arjun, Tifa, and Bosch. Pre-orders are available now. Do keep in mind that there’ll be no World Tour content for any of the incoming characters.
I’m not sure whether I’ll have the skills to master Yasmine’s fast-paced combat style, but she does look like a lot of fun, and I’m eager to test her out.
One of my favourite things in the trailer is how her hair changes during her victory screen – that’s a really lovely touch which adds a ton of personality to the character, as you’d expect from Street Fighter 6.
