Kojima Productions appears to be starting work on Physint in proper soon, as reported casting calls for characters have been picked up by MP1ST.
The outlet claims that the developer is currently searching for actors to fill a variety of roles aboard a hijacked bus, from a villain-esque character to teenagers.
So far, it's confirmed Charlee Fraser (Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga), Don Lee (Train to Busan) and Minami Hamabe (Godzilla Minus One) are in the game. These new roles would join the announced cast, and they reportedly are:
- A mother holding her newborn baby
- Five teenagers of different ethnicities
- Two additional male passengers
- An antagonistic character with a German accent
The final role is generating the most interest from fans, as there are additional details here. Apparently, the studio wants someone with a slim complexion, and they need to be "quiet" but "intense" and "confident in a psychotic way". This is all summed up by the description: "Mads Mikkelsen in Hannibal but with flair."
The website claims the codename for all this is "Shimmer", and Mari Ueda and her company Pivot Motion shall lead the casting, having previously worked with Kojima Productions on Death Stranding 2.
Motion capture for Physint is currently scheduled to start in June this year, according to the outlet, suggesting the mysterious Metal Gear Solid-esque game is still a long way away. The developer has OD to make for Microsoft first, and Hideo Kojima previously said the title will take him another "five or six years" to create.
