Patch 1.1.7 for Assassin's Creed Shadows has dropped just in time for the holidays. It's available to download now on PS5, weighing in at around 4.5GB.
In truth, this isn't the kind of update that makes sweeping changes to the open world adventure — but it does include something that players have been asking after for months: new finisher animations.
Shadows is a massive game, and we guarantee that by the end of the campaign, you'll be sick to death of seeing the same combat animations play out over and over again. Patch 1.1.7 adds fresh finishers for all of Naoe and Yasuke's weapon types.
You can preview some of these new moves via Ubisoft's video:
While we're fairly sure that some of these animations have been repurposed from past Assassin's Creed games (and maybe even For Honor, unless we're going mad), they should bring some much needed variety to your bloodier escapades.
Beyond the new finishers, there's a new Animus Rift to solve, and a new Project to grind through. A bunch of bug fixes have been implemented as well.
You can check out the full patch notes on the official Assassin's Creed Shadows site.
