With Lucy from the Cyberpunk Edgerunners anime set to be the series' first ever guest character, players have been wondering whether Guilty Gear Strive is looking to go out with a bang — but developer Arc System Works apparently ain't done yet.
Producer Ken Miyauchi has teased "big" plans for the game's future. In an interview with Dexerto, the boss drops some rather juicy quotes, suggesting that Strive players have actually got a lot to look forward to.
"I can’t talk too much about it, but we do have a plan," says Miyauchi. "I can’t say what our plans are right now, but I’m preparing something big and exciting that people probably won’t expect."
Again, there's been plenty of speculation over Strive's future. After all, the hit fighting game's now in its fifth year; its fourth season of DLC coming to a close with the arrival of Lucy, who's still on track for release at some point in 2025.
So, can we expect a Season 5? That seems fairly logical — there are still a bunch of old characters that Arc System Works could reintroduce — but we do wonder about Miyauchi's surprisingly punchy wording. Maybe we'll learn more at Evo 2025 in August...
