Rumour: Xbox Has Considered Microsoft Flight Simulator, Gears of War, and DOOM for PS5

No. Stop. We're not getting Gears of War on Xbox. Stop making rumors about it. You'd might as well make a rumor that Forza and all of Halo is coming to Xbox.

We literally just had a snoozefest of a conference where Microsoft goes down on their knees and pleas to us, telling us that we're not gonna see a major title on competitor systems. If not Starfield, why Gears?

Doom is hopefully a guarantee, considering that it's a super popular multi-platform franchise, and Fight Simulator may be stretching it, but it's at least more believable that Gears of War.

I mean if they don't want to be hypocrites then yeah at least the next doom game should be multiplatform

Well Doom makes sense as it's always been on playstation anyway, and Microsoft Flight Simulator was made by a third party dev i believe so maybe they want the game on playstation. But Gears I don't see happening, the xbox community would have a meltdown.

I'm sure Xbox (and PS for that matter) has considered every possibility under the sun. We don't need a new article every time some random site or social media user suggests that something is or is not happening.

Has the past week taught you nothing? An absolute frenzy with rumour after rumour. But I guess you got enough clicks to make you not care how ridiculous this whole situation has been because of sites like this spreading the rumours.

Phil also clearly said that the dam wasn’t about to break with exclusive games going to other platforms. And that he didn’t want to get gamers on other platforms hopes up. But the media will continue this endless, pointless speculation anyway they can and cherry pick quotes.

@lacerz Most gamers, especially PS gamers, would have a meltdown about a typo in a game if it meant going on about how "Xbox is dead".

The fact of the matter is that gaming at Microsoft is extremely successful at the moment (their 3rd biggest business, ahead of Windows) and that this is only 4 games.

It seems every time there is some sort of rumour about Xbox, the gaming community goes into meltdown. That doesn't mean a meltdown is actually happening.

I mean if they didn't want people to continue to speculate they probably should have just announced the what the four games are instead of giving weird vague hints.

@awp69 Tbf he said the dam's not going to break that's not the plan today, key word being today. It will all depend how well these four games do on Playstation/Nintendo, and tbh I think they will do really well especially on Nintendo and especially Hi Fi Rush as its suits Nintendo's style perfectly, I'd even say it will get more players than it currently has on xbox.

I was over on PushSquare's sister site out of interest and they are largely just as bored with this whole thing as we are. Besides the fanboys of course who see this as some sort of win, but fanboys gonna fanboy on any console.

Would play Flight Simulator if it had PSVR2 integration, but they’ll never commit to that. Pancake it’s just dull.

@AdamNovice Absolutely not, you seriously can’t have the expectation that now every Xbox title will come to PlayStation after all they said, sure, there may be more than 4 in the future but Phil Spencer was clear, if there’s no appetite for these games or this strategy end up hurting Xbox they’ll pull the plug, this is hopium on another level and shame on Push Square on reporting baseless rumors hours after we got an event denying previous baseless rumors.

Sounded clear to me. Four games coming now. More coming. However, all first party games on Xbox first, day 1 Gamepass and only go multiplat (team blue and red) after a year and/or when their growth/sales have plateaued.

I also felt Phil didn't answer the question on game preservation more, he was looking to the others quite a lot for them to maybe step in at most points.

As for the play anyway and backwards compatibility which he talked and mentioned the latter briefly. I wish they would add more 360 games to the xcloud heck even my past purchases from my 360 days would be so cool

@Shellcore Yep. Similar to Sony's method with PC I guess. It's still unclear whether these will be smaller games e.g. Pentiment and Hi Fi or larger ones such as Gears of War. Either is welcome the live-service ones make complete sense though. Anything like that might as well be multi-plat. I imagine Helldivers will be on Xbox next year 👍

For a site that say’s Xbox has no games, there sure is a lot of articles asking which games could come to PS. I would love to see smaller size exclusives go away. Sure God of War should stick to Sony, sure Mario and Zelda to Nintendo and Halo and Gears to Xbox. But i am good with games that don’t sell in the 15-25 million mark coming out to other platforms. Say like Ratchet and Clank on Xbox, that would be extra revenue for an amazing game that just isn’t going to crack 12-15 million in sales. I’m sure it won’t happen, but Sony made it clear this week, they intend to grow using multi platform. I am sure for now that is just more and quicker PC releases, but could become even more in the future and that is a good thing for all gamers.

15 to 25 million, @HonestHick? That would put pretty much every game in the bracket of games that could be ported! As an example, Gears of War 3 sold 3 million copies...! I don't believe a single Xbox exclusive has ever sold 15 million, and only a couple of PlayStation ones have, again, as an example, Horizon Forbidden West sold just over 8 million copies, so you have set the bar way too high... 😉

The weird thing about what he said was that the logic of releasing the 4 games that they confirmed applies just as much, if not more so, to larger games that take more resources to develop. I don’t know how many people I speak for, but I’m very unlikely to ever buy an Xbox now that I have a hefty library of games on PSN. But I would buy Xbox games on PS. I doubt I’m alone, and the MS Eye of Sauron will one day turn towards me and gamers like me and wonder why we are not giving them money. It’s just a matter of time.

Well if we apply Phil's logic.
Halo infinite and Xbox are interchangeable with Helldivers and PlayStation in Phil's latest comment so I don't see why not.

Man MSFS would be gold on the ps5

MSFS is still my game of the current generation. It's simply a staggering achievement. Not for everyone but anyone with an interest in geography, travel and/or aviation will find plenty to like. If the devs can optimize it for PlayStation like they have for the Series X then I think they should also look at utilizing PSVR as it's just wonderful on PCVR.

A platform isn’t considered dead based on user count - that is just a measure of popularity - it’s considered dead when games stop releasing on it. PSVR2 is still going strong with hundreds of games and more coming out weekly, but if it makes you feel better to think of it as dead then you do you, lol. I’ll just keep playing it every day.

I watched Phil and I actually felt awful for X Box players. He confirmed 4 previous X Box exclusives are definitely coming to Playstation and thought he didn't spell it out it's pretty much confirmed that it's the 4 most interesting exclusives on X Box. Then he rambled on about not understanding the benefit of exclusives which is obvious to anyone that that is why PlayStation and Nintendo are light years ahead of X Box. I must admit I was shocked when he said he's not saying other big X Box titles won't come to PlayStation in future. Phil definitely wouldn't say something like that unless it's for sure as he knows it will annoys many X Box fans and effect the brands value so he's basically confirmed every X Box exclusive is being very seriously considered for launch on PlayStation consoles.

I couldn't believe he was so vague and non committal when he promised he would address rumours and set things straight but it's obvious he has no intention of doing that. So now we know his plan is to milk the rumour mill as long as he can until they release the few exclusives they have on PlayStation. I'm honestly not surprised so many X Box players are coming over to Playstation lately. Not nice Phil just tell them damn truth this is such a slap in the face to every customer who stuck with them as it's obvious they have made their decision but have so little respect for their customers they aren't even bothering to tell them because as usual when it comes Microsoft money is king and their loyal customers are not even deserving of being told your strategy just more vague mutterings to ensure confused customers keep the rumour mill turning over.

189 by my count, albeit with 20 or so that say “Announced” rather than being current available. Go to the app and PSVR2 and count again. Or just hit the button at the top right and it will tell you the exact number. Not sure what filters you’ve used to get your link.

Why is a playstation news site spreading rumours about Xbox? Keep it playstation only. And official announcements of what's coming to playstation.

Who gives a crap? If I wanted to play Xbox games I'd buy an Xbox. I've always been more than happy with my playstations for the last 3 decades after coming from my Sega Master System II
