PlayStation Japan Returns with Another Musical Montage of PS5, PS4 Games

The official PlayStation Japan channel is at it again, producing yet another montage trailer stuffed with upcoming PS5 and PS4 games. This time accompanied by a laid back J-pop tune and a mix of live action and animation, there are numerous exciting titles highlighted here.

The video goes over games such as Final Fantasy XVI, God of War Ragnarok, One Piece Odyssey, Sonic Frontiers, and Forspoken, among many others. Though the emphasis is, understandably, on Japanese software, there's plenty of variety shown off.

Having grown up alongside PlayStation, Stephen has developed an eclectic taste in video games and a wide knowledge of the medium, from small indie gems to the biggest AAA blockbusters. Ever hopeful that the Burnout series makes a miraculous return.

So many really nice Japanese games... PlayStation hates Japan though. Or does it?
Did the internet lie to me again???? 🤐🤐

On a serious note, there's a lot of nice stuff in there.
Was that Dragon Quest X offline towards the end? What are the odds of that coming to the West?

@Shepherd_Tallon You beat me to it. Everyone of those games in that ad looked great. I'd play them all if I had the time and money on day 1 for each release!

Once I look passed Final Fantasy and Forspoken, with the rest of this lineup I don't know where to begin. It all looks fantastic.

@Shepherd_Tallon: No offense, but none of the japanese style games are made by Sony..

Is it just me or do all those western RPGs look kinda the same?

I'm most looking forward to the Trails Game - obviously

Do they need to be made by Sony though? They're on the platform. I understand also that only a few of them are console exclusives, but does that matter?
They are Japanese games and they are on PlayStation. Most of the popular Japanese games on PS1 and PS2 were not made by PlayStation either.

I’m super happy to see Star Ocean: The Divine Force get some more much deserved recognition in this trailer. I’m very excited for the release of that game in about a couple weeks. As a longtime Star Ocean fan myself, I’m impressed with the various trailers they’ve shown and with the demo that I played.

And of course, I’m also extremely excited for Final Fantasy XVI. I hope all the talk about a potential new trailer coming soon turns out to be true. Hopefully that game will generate a little more momentum in sales of the PS5 in Japan. I feel like the PS5 is actually doing great for a home console in Japan based on the sales numbers they’ve shared (even if the Switch is massively more successful there), but I still hope that Final Fantasy XVI and other games help move even more units in Japan (and everywhere else too).

Lots of exciting games to look forward to!

@Shepherd_Tallon: You're right in those points of course. I was just pointing out that this trailer has nothing to say about if Sony hates Japan or not.
