Frigid survival game KONA, which previously launched for the PlayStation 4 and PSVR, is now available on the PS5. There’s also a free PS4 to PS5 upgrade available, if you purchased it previously on Sony’s last-gen console. There’s no word in the press release on what improvements you can expect, but it’s probably safe to anticipate higher resolution graphics and a sturdier framerate.
“Northern Canada, 1970. A strange blizzard ravages Atamipek Lake,” the official blurb reads. “Step into the shoes of private detective Carl Faubert to explore the eerie village, investigate surreal events, and battle the elements to survive. KONA is a game submerged in mystery and intrigue, one with a spine-tingling narrative and unflinching drama that unfolds building the tension throughout.”
We awarded KONA a 6/10 in our review: “While the overarching story in KONA will no doubt leave you cold, the tense atmosphere at the centre of its snowstorm setting will warm your desire to see it all the way through to the end.” Will you be upgrading your game, or checking this out for the first time?
