Three things are inevitable in life: death, taxes, and Geoff Keighley. The Game Awards is the man's big, year-closing video game event, and it of course is coming back to send out 2021 with a glitzy bang.

This year's show will see a full return to a live, in-person event, held as usual at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles. Regulations and precautions regarding COVID-19 have yet to be detailed, but we imagine guests and hosts will need to take suitable measures in order to attend. The Game Awards will take place on 9th December, and will be live-streamed so we can all watch along from home.

There aren't any details yet as to the content of Keighley's show, but we do know there will be the usual blend of awards, musical performances, and game trailers and announcements. As you'd expect, the Dorito Pope himself will be slowly unveiling guest appearances, artists, and which games might show up between now and the main event in a couple of months. Nominations for all the awards will also come a little closer to the time.

So, mark your calendars, everyone — The Game Awards is coming. Are you excited to watch? Which game do you think deserves Keighley's Game of the Year trophy? Discuss in the comments section below.
