Wow! I was not expecting a Ratchet discount this early in. Sadly it's been reduced to the price of most new games, but it's tempting nonetheless.
I already have most of these so no. I bought Tales of Arise anyway.
'' Its price has dropped to $60.19 ''
this just hit me so hard , times are changing , lol .
good games on sale though .
As expected, a bit of waiting and you can finally buy Ratchet at normal price.
Just looked up the german store, R&C:RA's price is reduced from 79.99€ to 69.59€ which is still 10€ more than what full price games have cost just one year ago. Not sure if I should find this funny or sad
Might as well wait for a deeper discount on R&C:RA since they're already putting it on sale. Getting 14% of is like not paying tax in Ontario.
Nothing for me but more US Open Tennis!
I'll have a look tomorrow on my PS5, I just got the Yakuza Remastered Collection, Trials of The Blood Dragon & Outer World's Season Pass from the other sales.
Ratchet is £48 at the pirates CEX.
Nothing from the weekend sale, however just picked up Capitan Tsubasa from the essential picks sale.
I checked a couple retailers, seems they're doing a 14% discount on Rift Apart right now. lol
Oh boy, R&C is down from $99 to $86 here ...and this is why all-digital is still out of the question for me. Gotta love Europe! /s
It was $64 on disc at release for comparison.
@YourNameHere same!
£60=$83 in real life exchange rates. Seems like the English are being taking for absolute mugs with these prices. I have to say for the first time in my life I’m seriously considering ditching PlayStation for Xbox
Been playing Ratchet & Clank the last couple of days and all I can say is that I'm mighty impressed! I paid full price for it when I got the bundle, but now that I've tried it, I don't regret it at all.
@Boxmonkey I mean you could wait for a decent discount, but yeah ditching the console all together obvs makes more sense.
@naruball Do you always fight this type of people or Am I really lucky/unlucky to see you do that twice in a row?
@naruball as someone who doesn’t have as much time for gaming as I used to have switching to Xbox is a very good value proposition. Paying £70 for games that unfortunately sit in a draw isn’t the best idea really.
R&C can be had on disc for £52.95 from The Game Collection, still overpriced in my opinion but at least you can sell on after completing the 10 hour campaign.

@Boxmonkey Ι don't understand this logic at all. I don't have much time for gaming either, so I can wait and buy them when they're cheap enough. No one says you have to buy them at launch. Plenty of older games that are superb to enjoy.
Now, if you had all the time in the world and you had a very specific taste, I'd get why waiting for a sale would be a problem.
@lolwhatno always? No. Frequently? Perhaps.
@naruball You do you, I wouldn't be able to argue with people on the internet so frequently.
@Boxmonkey I've not paid £70 for any of the exclusives - unless you're locked into digital only check out the likes of ShopTo. Even at release you'll spend £60ish. In fact I managed to get Returnal for £59 on eBay so there are always options.
@Boxmonkey you can't compare prices in different regions purely based on the exchange rate. The basis for pricing games differently in different countries is much more complex than that, but it pretty much boils down to "what people can afford to pay for that game in that country". This is why there's a thriving market buying up Steam keys for poorer countries, and reselling them at a profit (but still well below the RRP) in the UK and other richer countries - because unlike PlayStation (not that you can buy PSN keys from third party vendors any more), Steam keys can be redeemed in any region, not just the one they were bought in.
The fact that Ratchet and Clank is more expensive over here, allowing for the exchange rate, means that UK gamers are considered better off than US gamers, it's not due to some vague "America Discount"
@MatthewJP
Yep, and more importantly, you can then get £32 back, meaning it costs 16 if you aren’t a collector of discs snd are happy shopping at CEX. But, yeah, this is a sale for digital at nearly 4 times the cost lol.
I’m ok waiting; not having much time to play means I can play games that are a few years old but new to me at a reasonable price.
@lolwhatno and that (yours) is the better approach, imo.
@Boxmonkey Keep in mind that tax is included for European prices, as it should.
Sony looking at their sales figures skyrocket for consoles.
Game makers see their sales figures go nowhere as not enough consoles are actually in the hands of consumers.
Haven't payed full price for any next gen game just wait plenty to play . I just got ratchet and Clank Rift Apart for 40 pounds brand new
should i get Immortal Fenyx rising or DMC5 guys? Stuck with only being able to afford one til payday lol
Ratchet & clank to £60 😂😂😂😂😂
No Sony, no. I have a brain and patience....see you in a few months....
@bremkat35 Been playing Immortals... It's great if you want to really sink some time into a game. The amount of things you can level up, collect and stuff to do - it's incredibly Ubisoft. If you're in it for the game play primarily, go DMC5. You'll avoid some of the obtuse frustrations that come with Fenyx.
R&C is tempting but I think I'll wait a bit longer. Was only 50/50 about getting it.
As an aside, No Mans Sky is currently £19.99. Absolute bargain if it looks like something that might tickle your fancy. Many, many hours of game there.
@boxmonkey do the UK prices listed online not already include VAT? I think they do.
No one in the USA pays the price of the game that's listed online since they exclude the sales tax. They exclude since it differs from state to state.
Then there are import taxes and other factors that affect purchase price. Overall the differences in cost are largely explained by differing taxes from country to country and state to state.
