Rocket League PS4 PlayStation 4

Last week, we reported on the incoming updates to Rocket League, the ongoing arcade title from Psyonix. Firstly, a set of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart inspired cosmetics are freely available in-game (gifted to you as soon as you hit the main menu), which is rather nice, isn't it? The second update was news of a 120 frames-per-second mode coming when you're playing on PlayStation 5. This was quietly delayed, but we're happy to report that it's now available with the latest patch.

Patch 2.02 is ready to download and install now, and alongside various bug fixes, it introduces Performance mode. In the settings menu, you can head over to the Video tab, where two options will be available: Performance and Quality. Performance will run the game at 120 frames-per-second with a slightly reduced resolution (if you have a compatible display of course), while Quality is the standard 60 frames-per-second experience at full 4K.

So, there you are: if you were wondering where the 120fps mode was, it's in the game right now — you just need to download the latest patch, and you'll be ready to roll. Will you be making use of Rocket League's Performance mode on PS5? Tell us in the comments section below.
