Two-way Japanese sensation Shohei Ohtani is one of the best players in the MLB right now, starring as both a pitcher and a batter for the Los Angeles Angels. And now he has a new Topps trading card, inspired by Ghost of Tsushima. The one-of-a-kind baseball card, designed by artist Chuck Styles, reimagines the former Hokkaidō Nippon-Ham Fighters player as Jin Sakai, as seen on the game’s iconic box art.
Replacing the protagonist’s smoke bombs and swords are baseballs and bats, but the flowing fields and falling leaves remain intact. This card is available from 25th August through 28th August, with a holographic version also up for grabs. While Sucker Punch’s open worlder isn’t mentioned in the product description directly, it’s clearly been inspired by the PlayStation 4 – and now PS5 – smash hit.

This is so awesome.
I have no attachment to baseball at all, but that's a cool trading card.
I don’t even watch or like baseball but that trading card is cool as hell.
Man, that is so cool. If I actually knew who he is, I’d probably want a replica of it for myself.
Maybe one with a football (soccer) player instead, like my main man, Heung-Min Son from Tottenham, would be amazing! And yes, I do know he’s Korean. Just thought he’d look cool in the same pose/shot.
im not into baseball but what Shohei Ohtani is doing in MLB is amazing leading the league in home runs as a starting pitcher and a dam good starting pitcher as well
Cop out 2 confirmed!?
Suffice it to say (for those of you not into baseball) that Ohtani is doing things in baseball that have either never been done before or have only been done by a guy named Babe Ruth.
@hobbes242 and Babe Ruth wasnt really pitching anymore by the time he started hitting all his home runs NY
@hobbes242
Just hope he has an off day next Monday and Tuesday - he can be better that Babe on another week 😜
Wow as much as I enjoy baseball I never got into collecting cards but I can't deny that card looks sick!
@trev666 That is a really good point. Then you factor in all the stolen bases, and it just gets more astounding.
Is there some connection between these two other than nationalities? Otherwise I don't know how to feel about this.
@zupertramp sarcasm?
@Mgene15 no I was really asking. Does he have some known samurai lineage that we automatically went there or is this his favorite game or I mean idk a sponsorship contract with Sony... something?
If not I'm a little... perturbed. Which should be read more as me scrunching up my brow a little and not read as me heading for the garage to grab my set of pitchforks.
thank God, please no pitchforks. lol. lets not cancel Chuck's Styles career off this... I was also turning my head slightly reading the article as well, but then I'm like who's offended in the comment section ? let me see
I normally don't care for baseball or sports, but must admit that's a badass looking card.
