Outer Worlds...
I love RPGs in general, but I've become completely burned out on Fallout. Outer Worlds always struck me as Fallout in a nicer setting.
Am I wrong? Is it worth a go?
@Shepherd_Tallon Hmph I've been wanting Outer World's but it seems the general consensus on the internet's that Fallout 4 is better overall. Plus I must say Oblivion and Bethesda games going exclusive have made me LESS interested in them these days tbh. I look at my Bethesda collection and it looks like a girlfriend planning to leave me, it's awful. Awful acquisition.
@TheArt I think I'll skip it in that case. I was completely fed up with Fallout 4 by the end.
I get what you mean with Bethesda games though.
I've loved Elder Scrolls forever and I have them all on my shelf, but I've been on the fence about playing more of them for years.
I can't put my finger on why, but it has nothing to do with MS buying them. I think I just feel like I know what to expect from Bethesda games at this point. More of the same.
I hope TES VI is special. Otherwise I think I'll just leave it.
Ubisoft games on sale?! Nah I don't believe that for a second.
@Shepherd_Tallon The Outer Worlds is far better than Fallout. It's more colourful than the bleakness in F4. The characters are all multidimensional with great stories. All your actions really do feel like they mean something to the whole story. Definitely worth a go! I think PushSquare gave a good detailed review too somewhere
@Shepherd_Tallon I liked it and was fully committed but it lost me towards the end. It’s a good game though.
@Shepherd_Tallon it largely depends on what you like or dislike about fallout. I preferred it to Fallout because it does away with a lot of the clutter you have to deal with in Fallout, it's leaner, more streamlined and less janky. Although by doing that, it's also not a Bethesda like RPG where you can pick anything up, do whatever you like, and as a result of all this it's quite shorter as well. For me these are bonuses, but I know a lot of people really look for that stuff, so it's really down to what you're after.
@DrClayman @fR_eeBritney @Throb 🤔
Now I'm torn again.
Ah feck it. We all know I'm going to just go and get it.
Thanks, all! ❤️
@TheArt Not the consensus I have seen. Outer worlds blows Fallout 4 out of the water
So glad I waited until I got my PS5 before buying Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Immortals Fenyx Rising and Watch Dogs Legion. Now I can get AC Valhalla & Immortals Fenyx Rising at reduced prices & play the best versions PS5, I'll Watch Dogs Legions next time.
@tanaka2687 Well they say Outer Worlds is better in a few aspects but overall it's Fallout 4. I'll probably end up playing it one day either way so...
THIS is the price at which I will buy Watch Dogs Legion!! £25 is decent. Outer Worlds also, I was tempted by the "Board bundle" at £38 or whatever it was called but this will do.
@Shepherd_Tallon any interest in Borderlands 3? I’ve spent a few hundred hours in both Fallout 4 and Fallout 76 and the same amount in B3. Building characters, amazing locations, great art style, great score, dark humor, exploration, lore, RPG post apocalypse, B3 ticks many of the Fallout boxes for me. Plus a ton of DLC and end game content that still continues to be developed.
Outer Worlds seemed linear to me and more story based than open world do what you want. I should revisit it, but I think I went in expecting a new gen Fallout and I don’t think that is what it is.
@Shepherd_Tallon personally I enjoyed fallout 4 not the best but I managed to get to the end. I was looking forward to outer world got it and literally could only do about 5-6 hrs before deleting it, it just felt a bit flat to me, for the first 2hrs it was good but got boring fast, I tried it twice but couldn't get past it.
But I would say might as well get it because you never know you might think it's brilliant and really enjoy it. I say if yo are in the mood to play an RPG then give it a go and go into it with no expectations of if it's good or bad and see how you like it.
@Shepherd_Tallon more like Fallout New Vegas, but smaller in scale.
@Blacksmith1985 @Daleaf @Toypop Thanks for the replies, all.
Seems very much a mixed bag.
@Shepherd_Tallon It's To Bad That There Isn't a Demo For The Game.
Anyone know if you can switch from 1st person to 3rd person on Outer Worlds?
I really enjoyed The Outer Worlds. It was like playing an episode of Firefly.
Outer Worlds is very good, but it's short. It never quite reached the heights that Fallout: New Vegas reached, though.
I found outerworlds boring, I bought it based on the review from this site. Respawning enemies, confusing map and waypoints. Fallout 4 is much better in my opinion.
@Corc11 No. The Outer Worlds is First Person View only.

@Shepherd_Tallon I loved outer worlds better than fallout 4 in my opinion, it was over far to quickly for me ,it also has a sense of humour ,great game.
@Shepherd_Tallon
for me personally, TOW was so damn boring, with small worlds, boring combat and side missions, basically the same ***** as Fallout 4 "but with more colors". Sold it after a week of playtime and never looked back.
I've had much more fun with Fallout 4. just my 2 cents.
@KidBoruto oh. That's a shame. I always felt like I enjoyed Fallout more from a Third Person standpoint
@Corc11 Yeah I normally avoid most FPV games too, except for a few exceptions.
Can't find Mafia trilogy being discounted. There is only Mafia definitive remaster available for 21 sterling.
The Outer Worlds finally got me, so I purchased season pass.
You can think anything you want about this game, but now it is the only/best thing you can get to satisfy your Fallout 3/NV/4 needs.
@Shepherd_Tallon It's Fallout in space with great dialogue , well worth a run, and the Peril on Gargon DLC is great..
Following on from the lack of control for indies in sales. Here is the flip side. Ubisofts games Assassins creed Valhalla, WD: Legion & Immortals: Fenix Rising have been consistently on sale, seemingly every month, since launch. THIS is part of the problem. Some games, and devs, get a free pass here where as others have to fight tooth and nail to get nowhere. A shame.
@Shepherd_Tallon honestly I found Outer Worlds incredibly boring. I had to stop playing it haha
@Throb The writing in the Outer Worlds is really good but Fallout 4 is a different kind of game, I played Fallout 4 even more than the Outer Worlds..
