It’s one of the biggest media properties in Asia right now, so understandably there’s a lot of enthusiasm revolving around the awkwardly named Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Hinokami Chronicles. And here’s some PlayStation 5 gameplay which is sure to whet the appetite of franchise fans – it’s your typical CyberConnect2 arena brawler, but it’s sure got plenty of pizazz to it.
The footage was debuted during the Aniplex Online Fest 2021, and captured by Twinfinite. Remember, despite this being big overseas, SEGA has made the decision to release it in Western territories, with a 15th October release date attached. Frighteningly, that’s actually not too far away (this year has gone fast) – is it on your radar at all?

I love when games do this 2D-3D style like DB FighterZ and Ni no Kuni, this game is no exception
And how does the ps5 version look any better than the ps4 version if both games look and run the same with no visual upgrades?
Would make sense if it was HFW or some other more graphically demanding game perhaps but its a cel shaded fighting game with bland designed stages.
I would of bought this day 1 if it released in August or September but October is so stacked with games already
Goin to have to pass on this game. I’m not into fighting games and if this were a JRPG instead. I would have probably considered getting it in October but you got Ghostwire & Battlefield 2042 dropping the same month. I’m probably going to get battlefield 2042 tbh

I wish they would clarify the 'Story mode' more specifically what it actually consists off and the approx length.
Whether or not I buy the game depends on this. In the few seconds I can find there looks to be platforming/exploration......although it could just turn out to be a cutscene rendered in the games engine.
If there is actually some exploration, Im interested.
But if its just arena battles bookedned by cutscenes, its a hard no.
This looks kinda awsome im in a manga phase now I guess i have to start watching this to. Ragnarok, Castlevania, Seven Deadly Sins on Netflix there is more then enough great stuff around.
Wow... How long have cyber connect been working on this game? Couldn't they have made it not look like a blatant rip off of their Storm games but just with Demon Slayer characters...
@Burntbreadman If you want an idea on how the "story mode" will be... Go look at Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 4's adventure mode. The game will probably only cover the anime, so Season 1 and the movie, so maybe 10-15hrs with terrible side missions to pad out the length.
I love the anime but shame its a fighting game. I would love an rpg or something involving demon demon slayer
