A PlayStation 5 version of Kerbal Space Program: Enhanced Edition is now in development, Squad has confirmed. With lift off planned for this year, anyone who already owns the game on PS4 will be treated to a free PS5 upgrade. The news coincides with the series' 10th anniversary, which was now sold over five million copies of the original game worldwide.
Kerbal Space Program: Enhanced Edition on PS5 will run at 1440p and sport an "improved framerate, advanced shaders, better textures, and additional performance improvements". There'll even be support for mouse and keyboard on consoles. Head of production, Nestor Gomez, said: "It has been an amazing journey with Kerbal Space Program. We are so thankful to our community as we celebrate this monumental milestone of the game turning ten years old. Kerbal Space Program Enhanced Edition benefits from the advancements of new hardware, and we are excited to bring players a refreshed and refined experience with this release." $39.99 is the price you'll pay if you don't already own the game.
The press release also pays a little bit of service to Kerbal Space Program 2, which is now slated to arrive next year. It will release for both PS5 and PS4, but that's all we've got as far as solid details go. Will you build a space rocket on PS5? Get started in the comments below.

The Kerbal enhanced edition complete is in the sale now on ps store for £22.49!
If it comes with a free upgrade this might be worth a look.
Always fancied giving this game a go but heard it was quite challenging/fiddly with a controller which put me off!
Did they ever sort out the PS4 version? I remember being interested in it but people on their forums were always complaining it was in a bad state, riddled with bugs.
Ah, another game I was waiting to come to Wii U that never came.😝
I tried playing this years ago on the og PS4. But the framerate was atrocious, seemed to drop way, WAY down. Also, I was probably too dumb. I love the concept though.
@rjejr That game would've been rough on Wii U!
Having played on PC I can't imagine trying to control this with a gamepad. Good to hear news on the sequel though, it's been quiet about release windows for some time
@Welsh_Will "That game would've been rough on Wii U!"
It's funny how everybody who PLAYED one Wii U knew that, but everyone who was MAKING games on it, even those who were focusing on Wii U while farming out the ports - didn't know that. 😝

The art style looks like fun, if this becomes a PS+ game I'd gladly try it out.
