Guerrilla Games’ art department never disappoints, and Horizon Forbidden West is shaping up to be another stunner from the Dutch studio. The title’s hotly anticipated PlayStation 5 gameplay reveal proved to be yet another flex from the firm, as it teased us with the sequel’s sunny San Francisco scenery. The blues and greens being used here are exquisite to say the least.
In addition to being able to explore on land, protagonist Aloy can now also explore underwater, and the colour palette becomes even bolder when she dives beneath the water. We’re really loving the summer feel of this follow-up, and we’re eager to see a little more of the West Coast as we get closer to release.

The one with Aloy facing the camera is my new desktop wallpaper, Just gorgeous.
Bloody brilliant, mate! This game is knocking the first one out of the park already. And that's what a sequel should be. Can't get enough of this.
This should get a documentary featuring the Digital Artist behind it. They really showing off what they can do on this one.
The best looking graphics I have ever seen on console. Wow. The game looks phenomenal as well. All the new gadgets and enemy types. It will have numerous mounts, spear augmentations, deep underwater gameplay, etc. Sony is delivering right now. Rift Apart looks spectacular.
Oh man I totally forgot to tune in to this, I'll give it a watch right now.
Looks so good. I just love how environments are starting to look more and more realistic.
Especially water!
Sony is on track snagging GOTY titles left & right. Returnal, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart & Horizon: Forbidden West all in 2021? PlayStation needs to take a chill pill. 🤣
@Residentsteven yeah there are a handful of abilities that do that, one for when aiming on a mount, one for when aiming while doing athletics (jumping, sliding, that sort of thing), and finally one for when you press R3
@Residentsteven at three hours in on your first playthrough I'd guess you're still in the Sacred Valley? There's a lot coming later in the game
@Residentsteven Oh gosh, yeah, you've barely scratched the surface. I wouldn't say the game really gets going until you've been to Meridian.
