It feels like The Division 2 has struggled to remain all that relevant since its initial release back in March 2019, but its incoming title update might just win some players back. Patch 12.1 is a pretty big deal, brining PS5 support to the looter shooter. It promises 60 frames-per-second at 4K resolution when played on Sony's current-gen console via backwards compatibility.
The update is due to arrive on the 2nd February, following a brief period of server downtime. The patch also includes a new Resident Evil crossover event, which lets you unlock RPD costumes and more. Pretty cool.
In any case, we'll update this article once patch 12.1 is available to download. Might you be jumping back into The Division 2 sometime soon? Get behind cover in the comments section below.

Will come back to this and try it out with the new update, I assume they won't do a full ps5 version
@hoffa007 I might see what it's like and although I did enjoy it when I played it with a couple of friends, I got bogged down with the extra guff and bloat. I only paid £7.99 for it though.
As it happens, a friend suggested we play this just last week and I got it on sale. So this upgrade is timely.
Just bought this last week with it's dlc bundle (warlord of new york) discounted on psn, can't wait to try it on the ps5
A good game destroyed by the greed of the company when they asked for 30 or 40€ for an expension (no matter if you had a season pass or not).
After the initial bugs, the delay on several things and the clear preference for pc version and players, this was kinda the last drop for most console players.
The game has very few people playing it nowdays. Not sure this is enough. For me it isn't, thats for sure.
Now if they could add cross-play then I would purchase it. Until then I'll continue to play my Stadia copy of the game.
Division 1 was better for me.
Used to absolutely love the Dark zone with a couple of friends.
Personally didn’t think the second one had quite the same atmosphere and just seemed to lose something.
That said I’ll likely jump back in for a bit and I hope to see a next gen Division 3 at some point.
If I had a PS5 I’d definitely dive back in, alas I don’t.
For 60fps? Umm yes please!
@Dan_ozzzy189 always better with friends tbf, but yeah it's not a bad game I just enjoyed more of the first one tbf
@Hurblyburbly The first one was better thats not a good thing because i found the first one so boring.
@Flaming_Kaiser
If you didn’t like the gameplay of the first one then I’d suggest you won’t like the second as it’s much the same. Just a different location (Washington instead of NYC) and there’s more variety in weaponry and enemies.
Overall though the complaint was its the Division 1.5 and it just felt the same.
Awwww man now we have to get this one i chose breakpoint instead on the flash sale and was thinking twice between the 2...Well this is another that'll be added to the list 😉👌 OSNSG a father/son youtube gaming channel check us out and show some love
eh it was fun while it lasted, div 1 was so much better
@Hurblyburbly Ah ok i found it so empty and it wasnt really that exciting too play.
Pop ups still present. What a shame. Uninstall.
