Awards FI

PlayStation Japan will reconvene next week for the annual PlayStation Partner Awards, celebrating the latest and greatest titles from developers across the region. The ceremony focuses on PlayStation games that have sold the most amount of copies rather than their quality, with three awards up for grabs. You'll be able to catch the entire thing live on the official YouTube Japan channel on 3rd December 2020 at 10am GMT/2am PT.

The Grand Award is handed out to the three Japanese/Asian developed games with the most worldwide sales from October 2019 through to September 2020, while the Partner Award celebrates player engagement. Meanwhile, the Special Award highlights games developed outside of the region that sold the most across Japan and Asia. There'll also be a prize for titles created in conjunction with SIE Worldwide Studios that sold the most worldwide. "At the PlayStation Partner Awards, we will be paying homage to creators who have appeared on PlayStation platforms over the past year. Jon Kabira and Hatsune Matsushima will host the event, presenting awards to the multitudes of hit titles released throughout 2020."

Given the nature of this event in past years, you shouldn't go into proceedings expecting any kind of new game announcements or reveals. Will you be tuning in? Let us know in the comments below.
