Here's an announcement that we didn't expect to see today: Square Enix is bringing The World Ends With You back from the dead. You may remember the stylish role-playing property from back when it was a Nintendo DS title, a whole 13 years ago. It went on to become something of a cult classic.
NEO: The World Ends With You is the name of this new instalment, and it's coming to PS4. It's set for Summer 2021, both in Japan and here in the West.

If there are some benefits to playing it backwards compatible on PS5, I'll get the PS4 version, if not, I'll buy it for Switch. Either way, happy to see a new entry in The World Ends With You universe.
Damn, id love if theyd port the 1st game to ps4 too but I know that's kinda impossible with the control scheme. Either way this is great, I'm definitely playing this on ps5
People have been waiting for a sequel to this for years. I was a big DS player back in the day but never gave much thought into TWEWY. Isn’t the 1st game now on Switch? Maybe I should check it out.

Thank you baby Jesus! I was so worried the terrible Switch port of the very good original put the possibility of a sequel in a grave. So happy this is finally being done, and I love the look of it so far. Gives me good Persona vibes.
I wouldn't mind a port of the previous KH games on Switch as a trade-off for this coming to PS4, but hey, I'm glad you can enjoy this action RPG.
You can play the original on DS, Switch or, if you're non-Nintendo purists, even on mobile.

The graphics somewhat reminds me of jet set radio, it's looks like a mix of jsr and persona, can't wait for this game
It looks great and as long as the controls aren’t utterly unplayable like the Switch version then I’ll get it on PS4.

@Judal27 PS4 port of the Final Remix Switch version would be amazing, hopefully we get an announcement regarding that soon.

@nessisonett NEO is a brand new game (and direct sequel) to be clear, not a port of the first/original game.

@KidBoruto Yep, I know it’s a sequel, it’s just that the control style for the remake of the original is so, so much worse than the DS version. If they fix that in this game then I’m getting it on PS4 for the trophies.

@nessisonett You can play the Switch version with touchscreen as well - though it does feel a lot worse getting fingerprints over the Switch screen compared to the DS.
