A strange by-product of PlayStation 4's Share button was the introduction of photo mode to many of your favourite games. Nowadays, a lot of high profile titles launch with the feature, allowing you to take some stunning stills as you play and share them with the world. Sony's first party teams have been the real champions of photo mode, and Insomniac struck gold with its take in Marvel's Spider-Man. However, the developer looks to be pushing the envelope even further with Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales on PS5.
This new trailer focuses on the game's photo mode, and it looks brilliant. Functionally it looks largely the same as what we're used to, but a couple of things caught our attention. Firstly, you're able to add new light sources to the scene, which lets you completely change how a photo looks. If you've got a great pose but poor lighting, that's no problem anymore. The other thing is how fast you're able to cycle through all of Miles' Spidey suits. Would a different outfit look better while you're kicking a thug into the sky? Have at it.
There are of course lots of new stickers and frames with which to decorate your creations, including one that stars Spider-Man the cat. What's not to love?

Finally, I can take photographic memories of my Spider-Man themed feline.
Or...
Cute Spider-Cat Photos!
The fact that you can set individual lights in the scene is crazy good.
I swear Sony's first party devs look at each other's photo modes and go "hmm, how can we add to this? How can we make this better?". I absolutely loved Ghost of Tsushima's photo mode settings.
The only thing I take photos for is to set them as themes. I like to look for good game images and always have a theme of the game I’m currently playing. Bit sad that we can’t set themes on PS5 (yet).
Best in class until ghost of tsushima came along. The only thing holding me back will be storage on PS5 - plus the fact i cant use screenshots on the dashboard
Looks like this 10-12 hour game will take me 30 hours because of this.
@RogerRoger I didn't know Fallen Order did the movable light in their photo mode. Crazy. I really should give that game a try once.
This spoiled a lot of the suits for me! But it's an awesome photo mode
But unlike PS3 and PS4, there's no custom backgrounds yet? Kinda sucks that you could get a beautiful photo from this mode but you can't set it as your background.
(note that it only came to PS4 after a few firmware updates even tho it was on the PS3 already).
In other words, I'll never finish this game because I'll be too busy taking photos. 😆
