How do you stop the PS4 controller from disconnecting in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War? If you're playing Treyarch's latest game on PlayStation 4 right now, there's a possibility you'll encounter a bug during the campaign that disconnects your PS4 pad from the system, meaning you can no longer continue playing. However, there is a workaround to stop this from happening. In this Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War guide, we're going to reveal how to stop the PS4 controller from disconnecting.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War: How to Stop the PS4 Controller From Disconnecting
During the very beginning of the third mission in the campaign, titled Fractured Jaw, your controller may begin flashing and automatically disconnect itself. There are also reports of this happening during multiplayer matches and the Zombies mode. To stop this from happening, reset your PS4 by turning it off and on again. Then plug the USB charging cable provided with your PS4 into both the console and the controller.
Next, on the PS4 home screen, select Settings, then Devices, and finally Controllers. You'll then want to select the bottom option named Communication Method. Change the selection to Use USB Cable. If you do this, you must keep the USB charging cable plugged in to continue using the PS4 controller. You should now be able to continue playing Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.
