Hotshot Racing crosses the finish line on PlayStation 4 today, and as far as we're concerned, it's well worth your time. Don't let the simple, blocky visuals fool you — this is a cracking arcade racer that handles like a dream. It comes highly recommended, then, and it seems the game is only going to grow over time.
Developers Lucky Mountain Games and Sumo Digital are already working on free DLC. According to a press release, this extra content will be coming "in the near future", and will bring "a new mode, new tracks, and more". The statement also mentions a new grand prix, so it seems the new tracks will be packaged together for a fifth championship.

Bought this as soon as it was available (00:50 lol). Hopefully it gets crossplay.
Downloaded at lunch and already blasted through the four GPs on normal mode - absolutely love it so far, like the review said the handling is spot on. The rubber banding is well judged too, enough to keep games close but not so much that it gets annoying. Had plenty of races where a crucial boost just got me over the line in time, it's so much fun.
Haven't tried any of the other modes yet but looking forward to trying them out later. I can see me completing the core content fairly quickly so it's great to see that they're coming out with more content already. Can't wait!

Really enjoying this so far. It’s very addictive and has that “one more go” vibe. Looking forward to the DLC, and the fact that it will be free is a bonus!

.. Bought it.. Love it.. Played it all weekend.. Peeves me that it's free on game pass day one.. Whilst PS Now languishes so far behind.. Honestly they need to step it up for PS5, or they're going to lose, especially now EA Pass is now free on XB, and PS owners are going to be charged MORE for it.. It's all about value for money, and PS is losing its value fast.. still preordering on Wednesday after announcement.. But it sticks in the craw a lot how much we're being ripped off...
