Japanese YouTube channel 駒沢アイソレーション -- @KaoruGans0 on Twitter -- has done a pretty amazing job of recreating Yakuza in real life. Filmed in Shibuya, the above video nails so many aspects of SEGA's sandbox series. The character animations, the camera movement -- at times it's eerily accurate.
It's worth pointing out that the video also incorporates elements from Grand Theft Auto and Metal Gear Solid, so it's a bit of an all-star mashup. But even these comical additions are really well done -- it's an impressive project that's well worth a watch.

Brilliant. A little more GTA than Yakuza but still a fun watch. Reminds me of the old Mega64 videos, they were ace.
That was pretty great. We had a game over, all the PS2 walking animations you could ask for, a ridiculous trailing mission with how obscene it looks in real life, all of it. Only thing missing was ***** out as you spammed a crouch or power-up animation.
Very cool. But if you gonna do Yakuza, then you gotta film in Kabukicho not Shibuya.
Aww. I was hoping for the guy to start violently smashing peoples' heads in with bicycles and trash cans every time he came within a few feet of someone.
But yeah, this is a lot of fun.
Next next next gen graphics !
Love the mini squat bounces before moving!
The subtle interaction animations were brilliantly done.
Loved the friction from walking too close to the wall - brilliant!
Very, very well put together. That was like watching PS12 graphics 😂
Classic well done 👍
Nicely done. Very funny. =))
@Ralizah Yeah, the realistic version would be called snuff... Not something anyone wants to see, surely
Wow, getting the artificial motion down must of needed some practice. True "live action" 😂
