20 whole years of Dynasty Warriors. A few more if we're counting from the original Japanese release. But either way, that's a lot of hacking and slashing, and to celebrate, Koei Tecmo has released a trailer that's got us feeling all nostalgic.
The video covers just about every Dynasty Warriors title released in the West over the last two decades (excluding a handful of spin-offs), and it's quite interesting to see how the games have evolved over time. And no, we're not going to make a joke about how they haven't actually changed at all -- that would be far too cheap.
Anyway, here's hoping that the next mainline Dynasty Warriors title gets the series back on track after the disaster that was Dynasty Warriors 9. We can only imagine how packed the battlefields of ancient China will look on PS5.

i bet this has 20 years worth dlc. game £60 dlc £3000
I'm waiting for Samurai Warriors 5 which is long overdue.
I enjoy more the spinoff games since I know more the characters like Hyrule Warriors (Zelda), fire emblem and one piece
Still hoping something will come from that “western” musuo game omega force teased a few years back, they heavily implied it would be star wars or marvel or something disney owned.
Congratulations to the franchise. Any franchise that can last 20 years is a great accomplishment. I myself have never played a Dynasty Warriors game but I do own and enjoyed the Dragon Quest games for the PS4 that are similar in gameplay to Dynasty Warriors. Fun games and worth playing if you have not.
Developed by Omega Force, the same team that is part of Koei Tecmo.
Dw3 was the best game they ever did on PS2 in fact it was at its prime during the PS2 era for me personally
That Dynasty Warriors 9 it was so bad it was in the trashcan in the Jimquisition intro oh the loyality by selling us the original weapons as DLC.
Im glad i didnt support it the last game for one bit.
damn they really did just skip over DW 9. I was so hyped for it but glad i didn't get it. I prefer the SW series in general but DW is the pioneer. fun stuff.
