Sonic the Hedgehog creator Yuki Naka has teamed up with Square Enix for his next game, named Balan Wonderworld. It's coming to PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 in Spring 2021 and is being pitched as a family-friendly 3D platformer set in a mysterious land packed full of theatre. If you purchase the PS4 version, you'll gain free access to the PS5 edition once you upgrade. Check out the announcement trailer above if that description interests you.
Taking to the stage will also be combined with more than 80 costumes which change gameplay. "The costumes change Leo’s and Emma’s appearances, granting them a wide array of fantastical powers to overcome obstacles that lay in their path and discover exciting new ways to play. The possibilities are endless as you bash your enemies, walk in the air, freeze time and manipulate all kinds of objects with the costumes you collect!"

Yuji Naka is joined by character designer Naoto Oshima, who also worked on the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. Are you looking forward to this one? Dance and sing in the comments below.

I’m interested in this, looked fun.
This looks so good, buying this definitely.
Oh wow, so this is just going to everything.
It looks good. Probably the best reveal of the Xbox presentation.
Looks pretty meh if I'm being honest but the soundtrack is slammin.
ouch. that budget hurts. as for the themes in the game — "look into your heart" and "finding true happiness starts within" should be in the next kingdom hearts game. has nomura been spending too much time with naka? lol... this is a dud if i have ever seen one.
I'm not fan of the overall character designs of the MCs and some of the walk cycles (0:39, 0:52) look weird as heck. I’m not sure about this one right now. I need to see more.
I like the song they played at the end of the trailer though.
I kind of wish you played as the Nights looking character instead of the kids, but it looks fun.
Looks fun in places, will probably give it ago.
