A Plague Tale: Innocence is one of the greatest titles publisher Focus Home Interactive has ever put out and that appears to have translated into a lot of sales more than a year after release. Asobo Studio today announced that the game has sold more than one million copies across the globe, surely making it a successful project for the developer.
And while a sequel hasn't been officially confirmed just yet, we'd be surprised if it didn't happen. Back in December 2019, rumours suggested that a follow-up would be revealed at some point this year. It would launch in 2022, speculation suggested. Of course, that hasn't happened yet, but then the coronavirus pandemic may have thrown promotional campaigns into disarray.
What do you want to see out of a sequel to A Plague Tale: Innocence? Have you played the first game yet? Avoid the rats in the comments below.

Good for them, I thought this was a great game when I played through it, nicely done especially by an indie team.
I thoroughly enjoyed the game. I’m interested to see where the story takes them...
A nice game and reminiscent of a time when smaller scale but engrossing games could take a risk. It wasn't industry changing but it told an engrossing story in an interesting setting with some solid gameplay.
Great game, I'd definitely buy a sequel.
This is really great to hear, what a fantastic game it was, easily one of the best of last year.
As for a sequel, how about a revenge story where we play as Amicia/Hugo, then halfway through we take control of a rat, & see the events from their perspective?
A modern classic game.word up son
Really good game with a fascinating story, incredible graphics, sound design and engaging gameplay. Just the right length too.
I played it through GamePass otherwise I likely would have missed it.
Looking forward to a sequel and also Microsoft Flight Simulator which Asobo Studio also developed.
This was a fantastic game and was surprised it got some low scores...it
Brilliant news to pass a million sales and id absolutely love a sequel!
Awesome game.
I bought this game 2 weeks ago, I have yet to play it though.
Great game with a great story, this was my sleeper GOTY for 2019.
So did Vampyr, and there’s still no word on a sequel there... 😢
Good i loved this game!
Glad to see Digital Foundry also acknowledging this lovely game!
I registered just to post on a comment on this one.
this game was amazing! A silent release that to me never saw the praise and attention it should have.
If this studio releases a sequel I'm all in for it!!
surprising this game was not sold a full price, which I think should have been, but whatever.
10/10 for this one for sure.
if you haven't picked this up or haven't heard of it do yourself a favor and look into this one. you won't be disappointed
Awarded 6/10 'Not Bad' in half hearted review on this site.
Along with their Trackmania Turbo and Dead by Daylight reviews I think this was the time I disagreed with them most.
This was one of the most pleasant gaming surprises of 2019. It may not have been the most revolutionary game, but it still enters my thoughts now and again even now. Very enjoyable single player game with a very convincing mood and environment. Not sure if I want a sequel, but definitely want to see more of Asobo moving forward.
Glad to hear this. One of those games I got from the library (a real one with books and stuff) out of curiosity but had to return before I could finish it. Some of it was good and some not so much, but overall a nice atmospheric game.
I played the trial, it did seem interesting but some of the stealth seemed a bit clunky. Good atmosphere though, I may get it at some point if on sale.
Still haven't picked this up, might grab it to tide me over until cyberpunk!
Loved it! Glad it sold well.
It is a dark story, but it makes sense in the backdrop you play it in. It also looks stunning.
I was really surprised by how much I enjoyed that game. It sorta felt like a low budget The Last of Us (But still very high quality for an indie team) and the story was really interesting and impactful.
1 million? is this including digital sales?
Really good game, im happy it did well.
I got stuck in a puzzle very late in the game and stopped playing. Ill pick it up again after finishing TLOU2.
Who said video games are made to be fun to play? im getting depressed with my choices of games to play
I really enjoyed this game. I would definitely be down for a sequel.
I loved this! Great story. I’m not sure it needs expanding in a sequel, but would like to see more games in a similar style by them.
Really enjoyed the game on the whole, although the last boss kinda annoyed me as the mechanics in it sorta came out of nowhere. However, it was a very solid game, but not sure there needs to be a narrative sequel. Glad it's been a success for them and that they'll get to continue making games, be happy to see whatever they come up with next.
Probably one of my favourite games of last year. Pretty much enjoyed everything about it.
I hear great things about this game. I recently bought it on sale and will play eventually.
Wasn't expecting much from this game but once I played it, it turned out to be a very good game. A nice surprise and looking forward to the sequel.
