Hitman 3 will be the ultimate destination for assassination when it releases in January 2021 on the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, as developer IO Interactive will allow you to transfer all your purchases from Hitman and Hitman 2 into the new game. This will result in a potential pool of 20 plus levels, and any unlocks you earn in the latest locations will be playable in the old stages as well.

Even more exciting is that if you’re already busy beavering away in Hitman 2, then your progress will transfer to the new game, meaning you won’t have to unlock those sniper rifles and gadgets all over again. “This is something that players have been asking for and we’re delighted to confirm,” the developer wrote on its official website.

“Hitman 3 will act as a platform for the entire trilogy, and we are excited to finally realise a vision that we had five years ago: to create a game world that would continually grow and expand over time,” the studio said. “In the coming months, we’ll share precise details about how location and progression carryover will work.”

It’s also worth mentioning that the Danish developer will be self-publishing this game, meaning no bothersome publisher interference. “It feels like a natural step for Hitman 3, as the final game in this trilogy, to come directly from us to our players,” it continued. “We feel ready for the challenge and look forward to embracing the journey, together with our players and community.”
