There’s no question Horizon Forbidden West is the best-looking PlayStation 5 game showcased thus far, and while we’re still waiting for more details and information about its storyline, we’ll allow you to feast on this first batch of screenshots – captured directly from Sony’s next-gen hardware.
It looks absolutely sensational, doesn’t it? But let us know your thoughts on Aloy’s sophomore adventure in the comments section below.

Got my new desktop wallpaper
Also, that's the Golden Gate Bridge.
Sony, you have my money. 💰
"Wow" do i need to say more.
@JohnnyShoulder
@Flaming_Kaiser Indeeeeeeed.
Looks great. Hopefully the underwater segments control decently. I'd love to see improvements to the environmental interactivity as well. It'd be great to see Aloy have more freedom when climbing.
Horizon: Forbidden West is going to be a great showcase for the capabilities of the PS5.
The most exciting game announced today in my opinion - and the game that I will buy a PS5 for. Just watched the 4k video of the reveal and it certainly is a stunning looking game...
Of course I will buy a PS5 at some point but whether its at launch or for H2:FW, I don't yet know - but everything else was OK and I could wait 'months' to play if I don't get a PS5 at launch.
I also got a bit of a 'War of the Worlds' vibe from one aspect of the story - The Red Weed taking over and killing life reminded me of the red weed in War of the Worlds after the Aliens have arrived...
Guerrilla is one of the best in the business at pushing visuals, I'd expect nothing less than a stunning looking game. The good news is the first Horizon also has a fantastic gameplay foundation to build from. This will be an absolute must-own.
Helghast Elephants
I absolutely LOVE that underwater screenshot. It makes me so gitty. I just love the look and aesthetic of underwater environments in video games like this.
This looked awesome
It’s my Most anticipated game along with BOTW2
The looks of it is beautiful, as the first one. Hands down.
But I'm surprised at how many loved the actual first game... If I'm gonna touch this new one there needs to be changes.
The fighting with the mechs in the original was at best tedious. And the landscape, in all its glory' was so littered with plants and stuff to pick up, you couldn't move a meter without something flashing or catching your eye or some person calling out. Oh, and the mech, just too many of them, too close, popping up everywhere at all times. Felt like no balance in this at all. If looking back at RDR2, it's just weird. But, this is just my opinioin. One can't like all em games I guess...
@gamer_since_83 Whaaaat?! Fighting mechs was one of the best things about HZD. On the other hand, fighting human enemies wasn't too good. I'm hoping that is improved in this sequel.
HZD was my second favourite open world this Gen, just piped to the post by BOTW. The first was a stunning looking game, still the best HDR i've seen in a game. And fighting a thunder jaw for the first time was epic. High expectation for the follow-up
Edit: How did I forget about Witcher 3, Only played it 3 times... So make this my third favourite with the wild hunt in fist place
I am so in for this. My number 1 most anticipated game by far now.
Underwater in particular looked stunning, this and Ratchet & Clank were the stars of the show for me (Resi 8 too but I'm a fanboy) and really looked to be pushing the hardware to genuine next gen experiences, these are the two games which I will buy a PS5 for
Looks stunning. Can't wait. Although I do feel obliged to kick off the title debate by pointing out the appearance of the roman numeral for 2 in the logo, making this Horizon 2: Forbidden West (I was always on team Horizon: Zero Dawn).
Horizon and Ratchet have me sold from day 1! Then again, I was sold from day 1 on day 1 of the announcement.
@HUMPERDOO I saw that too. Looks like it's there but not acknowledged.
Looks good but no gameplay yet. I guess they don't want to show pre-alpha which is more than fair. It's cool to know what direction they're going. Hope for more big machines as well as small ones.
