Capcom is planning a new Monster Hunter game, apparently. The topic was brought up during the company's most recent investor question and answer session, in which a representative said (as translated by Gematsu): "We are planning to develop a Monster Hunter that middle and high-school students can enjoy, so please look forward to it."
It's a weird quote, and while we don't want to read too much into it, we still have to wonder what it means. The question leading up to this specifically said: "I would like you to sell a Monster Hunter that middle and high-school students can enjoy again," but it's unclear what this point is even referring to. Something like 3DS spin-off Monster Hunter Stories? Some kind of mobile game? We'll just have to wait and see.
Would you like to see Monster Hunter branch out? Do you have any idea what any of this even means? Contact Capcom in the comments section below.

Hopefully it's a new Monster Hunter Stories game.
Itβs a monster hunter game for switch π€·π½ββοΈ
Its a Mobile free too play game for the i dont want pay generation.
Could be a Switch game, as that console is very popular among students in Japan. The only Switch Monster Hunter game so far is Generations Ultimate, which is an updated version of a 3DS game, with better visuals and more content. So it wouldn't be surprising if they were working on a new game for the Switch.
Definitely a mobile gatcha game...ugh! Then again, for the past week I've been playing "Jurassic World Alive" (wanted to show someone an example of an AR game) and it's actually not so bad, namely because the PVP element actually has some strategy involved and not just "whoever has the higher level wins lol #pay2win #grind2win"
I'm guessing it's a Switch-exclusive MonHun game as well. Even if it doesn't light up the charts the way MH World does, those portable MH games still sold very respectably in Japan.
Monster Hunter: Fortnite Edition.
I bought this game on Black Friday, I still haven't open it... ^^
@ApostateMage That exists and is called Dauntless lol
Monster Hunter World is rated 12+ in Europe and T for Teen in the US. I'd say that ship has already sailed! π€£
As opposed to the games they made previously, that are aimed at children and teenagers!
They're very child friendly anyway...
Gotta catch m' all!
A BATTLE ROYAL then....
My teenage kids already like Monster Hunter the way it is
Not sure what's inaccessible about Monster Hunter World for kids and teens. Except for the challenge I suppose.
Monster Hunter Stories 2
I don't like the sounds of that, but I'll reserve judgment until we see what they mean. I hope it isn't too dumbed down tho; kids are smarter than a lot of adults give them credit for.
Weird when I was a teenager or close to it I was playing Monster Hunter Tri on the Wii! A proper Monster Hunter game.
Because World isnβt a game for high-school students? Itβs rated T. Younger kids maybe something new, but MH is a cane most people of any age could play already.
@Jaz007 Yeah, l have played with kids under 11 before and man they don't know how to type and play rightly xD
Monster Hunter Riders?
As long as it also comes to PS4 eventually, I'll be happy.
