The Last of Us 2 PS4 PlayStation 4 1

The Last of Us: Part II is pulling no punches with its subject matter, and it looks like its release may be restricted by the relevant authorities in some countries. Eagle-eyed fans noted that the title was not up for pre-order on the PlayStation Store in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia – despite it being promoted by local PlayStation branches and appearing on a list of upcoming titles.

One Reddit user contacted Sony about the issue and was effectively told that the title is banned. Ghost of Tsushima, for comparison’s sake, is currently available for pre-order digitally in both of the aforementioned countries. We do know that Ellie's sophomore outing features very adult themes, including graphic violence, nudity, and sexual content, which could have contributed to a ban.

Nevertheless, fans in the Middle East will still be able to grab the release through foreign PlayStation Network accounts, while there’ll no doubt be import copies of the title on Blu-ray available from some stores.
