The April download charts for PlayStation Store are in, and as usual, there are some notable differences between regions. Final Fantasy VII Remake is perhaps the most prominent new entry in both charts, but it placed higher in North America, debuting at number one. In Europe, Cloud's return came fourth to some evergreen PS4 titles, with Grand Theft Auto V taking the top gong.
Resident Evil 3 also performed better in the US, where it landed in sixth place compared to 10th in Europe. Interestingly, Marvel's Spider-Man has re-entered both charts, web swinging back up into 10th and ninth in North America and Europe respectively.
Elsewhere, Blood & Truth shot back up to top Europe's PSVR chart, while Beat Saber continues its winning streak across the pond. When it comes to free-to-play games, though, Call of Duty: Warzone dominated in both regions.
You can check out the full charts for the US and Europe through the respective links. Which games did you download from the PS Store in April? Let us know in the comments section below.

Its official Europeans have no taste and before people comment om from the EU.
Sigh how is GTAV still topping charts? Everyone must have it 10 times over lol
Also the Europe link is broken for me. Cant tell if thats a fault on the blogs side. The US works tho
Edit: works fine now
I'm never going to buy GTA V.
And that's a promise. From me to you.
Fantastic game, on my 2nd play through now!
Seeing GTA still in the charts let alone at the top is just getting boring.I played that game on the xbox360 for goodness sake and it wasn't even that good!Final Fantasy VII Remake however is an awesome game and deserves to take its rightful place at the top.
I am disappointed in my fellow Europeans for picking a GTA title that isn't even the best in the series over the amazing FF7 Remake.
(I am from England but I still regard myself as European, screw Brexit )
I like GTA V a lot (couldn’t get into online) but like... who doesn’t own it by now? How are there enough people buying it?
As good as FFVIIR was I'd take GTAV over it any day. Just trying to balance the scale up in this joint.
@DonJorginho Don’t worry politics can’t move a country or change the ethnicity of its people.
FF7 was amazing. Can't wait to play the 2nd part.
FF7 is better than FF6, and this remake proves it.
DonJorginho and Ryall, I'd choose FF7 over GTA any day. Also, Brexit was a step in the right direction. The EU was not doing much for us anyways. Given the current pandemic, European solidarity is a myth. Just see how France and Germany are hording materials for themselves, putting their own interests first. Lucky for us, we got out right before it got bad. The EU was only holding us back.
Final fantasy 7 remake of course, can't stop playing it. Just got to honey bee inn, man I'm having too much fun playing this game
Well-deserved, imo. FF7R is beautiful and deserves to be successful.
@Wazeddie22 agreed played it on PS3 with a borrowed copy and it wasn't that great. GTA IV was much better and frankly there are actually other great series like Yakuza or sleeping dogs that have produced better titles like Yakuza 0 I have been playing recently.
A travesty that GTA beat Final Fantasy. Who is still buying it?
@Enuo ive only played it once and it was horrible but yeah same. I dont get why so many people like it.
GTA V is a great game but like with everything that is successful it's also there to be shot at. I'd rather this was too than a FIFA or CoD game.
As for FF VII, haven't bought it yet but plan to. I am tempted to pick up FF XV in the sales, is it worth it?
@Arugula
Dont give them ideas! They might just🤣
@adventsephiroth You must be smoking something if you think Brexit is going to be a postive influence for the UK at this point (myself being from the UK, but not living there anymore), it literally couldn't be worse.
You might point fingers at other countries, but they were doing what was in their peoples own personal interests, in the same way that a family would put their own needs first, before others. That doesn't mean there isn't solidarity at times when it's possible (I.E Australias forest fires)
Besides, the pandemic hit the UK the most hard due to poor decision making by the government. Death Toll is the highest in all of europe, not much to be proud about there really. Across the world, the economy is likely to be hit so hard it will throw us into a heavy depression, and just as that takes hold, the UK will be leaving the EU which will ravage the already crippled economy.
You may think it's going to be good right now, but come the end of the year, it's going to paint a different story. You're going to see mass unemployment, poverty along the lines of whats seen in a 2nd world country, overinflated prices and general misery, and on an unprecedented level.
My purchase of Telling Lies on day 1 didn’t single-handedly propel it to the top of the charts?
To the defense of Final Fantasy VII remake (not being higher on the list), the reported sales data is for the entire month of April, and FF VII came out April 10th.
