The latest physical UK chart is here, and if we swapped it out for last week's, no one would notice. Nine out of the top 10 games once again make an appearance among the bestsellers, with the exception of Resident Evil 3. Capcom's latest remake has slipped from eighth to 17th.
Replacing it is Red Dead Redemption 2, which has been on the climb for the last few weeks. It's back at number 10, while its older brother, Grand Theft Auto V, has actually moved up a spot to fifth. FIFA 20 loses out on number one to Nintendo's insanely successful Animal Crossing: New Horizons, while Call of Duty: Modern Warfare remains steady in third. Meanwhile, Final Fantasy VII Remake is on the decline, going from fourth to eighth.
Here's the latest top 10 in full.
UK Sales Charts: Week Ending 25th April 2020
- Animal Crossing: New Horizons
- FIFA 20
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
- Ring Fit Adventure
- Grand Theft Auto V
- Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
- Final Fantasy VII Remake

Same story for Final Fantasy 7. It can't be purchased physically in the uk right now. As for GTA5, its just mad how it still sells. They are going to release a ps5 version arn't they!!
RE3 looks great but not 60 dollars great. I'm not paying 60 dollars for a remake. Besides: Jill is really snarky in this iteration.
@eumenes Jill is really snarky and I love her for it, plus she's a total badass in this iteration.
Fixed that for ya.
Shame about Resi 3, I've already done 2 playthroughs and will probably do more so I've played it just as much 2. Hopefully it gains more when shops re-open as I would like to see Capcom continue with these quality remakes.
It would be interesting if they actually put the sales figures each week so we could see how much physical sales are falling at the moment. What happened to combining digital sales with physical, thought that was going to happen a while ago?
Wow, Animal Crossing is outselling a soccer game in the UK?
Also happy to see Ring Fit Adventure continuing to sell so well. Retailers haven't been able to keep the game in stock for months. Maybe Nintendo is finally making good on their promise to boost supply numbers? I really need to get back to my copy.
FFVII's physical run has been affected by supply issues, so I'm sure a ton of people are going digital with it. And regardless of how big the brand is, a non-Pokemon JRPG isn't going to be able to stand toe-to-toe sales-wise with mainstream titans like FIFA, CoD, and Animal Crossing (apparently) in the UK.
The TOTAL of all boxed game sales combined in the uk was 200K. Being #1 or #10 on this list right now does not mean much.
SE sent Trials of Mana to die. Expected with FFVII out also and just a bit more.
@ApostateMage what is it with people's obsession with the word ''bAdAsS''? youre not a badass for being a snarky little runt.
@eumenes Woah there, fella. Chill out and go and have a Jill sandwich or something.
