Over a month after its release, Animal Crossing: New Horizons is still far and away the most talked-about video game on social media. The impact its had during these uncertain times is astronomical, but unfortunately, there's nothing quite like it on PlayStation 4. Developer Soda Den is trying to change that with Roots of Pacha, an experience which takes the laidback vibes of the Nintendo Switch exclusive and puts it in the stone age. What's more, it's coming to PlayStation 5 alongside a current-gen release in 2021.
Hinted at in the announcement trailer above, Roots of Pacha is all about building a village that will stand the test of time. You'll need to gather and farm vegetables from the surrounding area of your camp, befriend and domesticate animals, and fish for aquatic life rather than eggs. Curse you, Zipper. Anyway, you'll also be able to develop friendships with those around you and invite friends to join your clan. Customisation also plays a part as both your character and the village itself can be tweaked to your liking. We don't know if Roots of Pacha will have its own Tom Nook and Isabelle -- the stone age isn't exactly known for debt and loans.

Sorry, this is nothing like Animal Crossing. If anything, it's Stone Age Stardew Valley.
Walking as slow as the tectonic plates, yeesh! Instant no way from me.
Doesn't really look like animal crossing TBH.
Yeah. Castaway Paradise is more an Animal Crossing clone on PS4 than this one, mate.
Nothing like Animal Crossing but if you like Stardew Valley this is a no brainer surely, im sure it will sell like hot cakes to that crowd
Unless you want Nintendo to sue the makers of the game I would remove animal crossing, even though it's nothing like it don't give Nintendo ideas!
Maybe Liam should goto Specsavers!
Well this wont get as many clicks if they said Stardew Valley instead of Animal Crossing, especially there seems to be hundreds of Stardew/Harvest Moon style games coming out. I see you what doing PushSquare...
Anyway looks rigid and slow as ***** though so will wait on what people say about it, and to be honest I prefer these games on a handheld so will probably wait for an the inevitable Switch version if it turns out to be good.
