Finally, a new release on PlayStation 4 has made an impact on the UK's physical chart. Nioh 2, Team Ninja's Souls-esque sequel, arrived last week, and has defeated a number of huge foes to debut in first place. It's a good result for the PS4 exclusive in an unusual week for games at retail.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and FIFA 20 are down to mid-table, while Grand Theft Auto V and The Division 2 are sticking around in sixth and seventh respectively. Most of the other slots are taken up by Nintendo Switch titles, so it's a relatively uneventful week for PS4. Nioh 2's first place win at least shows there's very much an appetite for big new games, however, and there are still plenty of those coming in the next few weeks.
Here's the latest top 10 in full.
- Nioh 2
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
- Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
- FIFA 20
- Grand Theft Auto V
- The Division 2
- Luigi's Mansion 3
- Minecraft
- Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020

Nioh 2 sales were strongly underperforming compared to its predecessor. Guess I'm not the only one waiting for the PC release...
The game isn't for me but congrats for team ninja
Loving Nioh 2. Team Ninja really has a gem here.
Cleared Vivian Conley in Division 2 Warlords of NY on Sunday with my cousins. Great co-op game to play online with family when we all stuck at home 👍
@JAMes-BroWWWn it's also about to get crowed in releases with Doom, RE 3, FF7, P5R, Animal Crossing coming so people are probably holding off
@JAMes-BroWWWn On the other hand digital sales could be really high as more people but digital now then they did back in 2017, my copy of Nioh 2 was digital so my sale wouldn't count with this.
after I finish the dozen games I started this week off my backlog
.. sooo glad Nioh 2 has got the attention / chart position it deserves... stunning game..
Proud to say I don't own one game in the UK top 10 chart.
