Here's something we weren't expecting to see this morning. In a retail chart otherwise filled with the typical popular titles, Two Point Hospital gets off to a great start, coming in just behind Call of Duty: Modern Warfare for a second place debut. It's a pleasant surprise to see a relatively small game do so well in the shops. We're not sure what the actual numbers are, but SEGA will be pleased with this result.
As we alluded, the rest of the top 10 is looking extremely familiar. With Dreams now down at number 19, new games don't get much of a look-in this week. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order upsets the balance of the force, slipping from fourth to ninth. Some titles make a reappearance due to in-store offers, such as The Division 2 in seventh or Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy at number eight, but this is otherwise a pretty standard chart.
Here's the latest top 10 in full.
UK Sales Charts: Week Ending 29th February 2020
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
- Two Point Hospital
- FIFA 20
- Grand Theft Auto V
- Minecraft
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
- The Division 2
- Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy
- Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
- Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled

Wow...Two point Hospital the 2nd best selling game of the week? That’s great news, especially for a sim-type game on consoles. Who says sims don’t sell well on consoles? 😉 makes you wonder if it would have been No.1 if it wasn’t on Xbox game pass.
even though i bought two point and loving it, i really surprised its a number 2, didnt expect it to get in the top 20 let alone number two. well done!
said it last week dreams is no surprise, most people knew it would not sell in big numbers , dont get me wrong its a great game bit its not going to appeal to the masses
I had my first go on Dreams this morning, & love the vibe of it already. Had a go on “Blade gunner which was amazing 👍
It really annoys me when people don’t give new games like “Dreams” a chance. They just stick with the FIFA, COD’s and GTA’s of the world.
A lot of Gamers are just a bunch of sheep. Following the crowd. 🤬
End of rant 😉
Dreams is a bit of an odd one. Because it came out in early access, a lot of its initial sales will have already come and gone. I feel like this game will be a very slow burner. Also worth remembering that this chart doesn't include digital sales, where Dreams will probably be doing better.
Very cool to see Two Point Hospital doing so well.
Two Point Hospital is now better funded than the actual NHS.
@harchibald Spurs fan here so first of all congrats on your win yesterday, you have a really good team and I think you can go all the way in the EL.
But GTA is nothing like FIFA or CoD. Its enduring popularity is of course down to its online mode but it also offers a great SP campaign and an open world that over six years on is still a joy to explore.
Dreams was always going to be tad niche, I plan on getting it at some point but it will probably need to be reduced in price. I think it will have a long shelf life so relax and let people play what they want.
😉
aaaaaaaaaaand then dreams was off the charts and nowhere to be found. the hype is over and when people found out it was just work and no play, then everyone moved on. mm should have made lbp4 instead.
I bought Two Point Hospital as well and I'm having a blast. Pc-to-console conserions don't always work well (I'm looking at you, XCOM2), but this works as smooth as butter and very intuitively. Chuffed it's selling well.
@TheBuzz
eh?
LBP could also be considered "work and no play", this being more in depth can let people be a lot more creative than they every could in LBP.
yes everyone and they grandmother knows you hate this game, so do us all a favour and stop posting about it
does dreams have a lot of crap on it ? yes but there are also lot of amazing things far better than anything seen from LBP!
Played Two Point Hospital on my PC (thanks Game Pass Ultimate) and found it to be quite charming.
There is something...odd...about the game, though. No matter what I did, the game never actually reaches 60fps. Maybe it's a glitch with the Windows Store version of the game, but dropping the game down to barebones settings only allowed it to hit the high 50's and never touching 60fps - this is on a mobile Nvidia 1060 6GB video card. Also, turning on Vertical Sync makes the game drop down to a locked 30fps.
It's not a big deal, as the game feels completely fine at a locked 30fps, it's just...odd.
As far as Dreams goes, I am not surprised. It's one of those games that is highly rated and respected among it's community, but won't gain wide-spread attention.
Two Point Hospital did great. Very refreshing!
.. free on XB Game Pass - haven't stopped playing it all weekend... unbelievably good console adaption... worth every penny! (and ensured I didn't play the Nioh 2 demo properly before release...)
Two Point Hospital did very well.
Checks notes on two out of three consoles.
@Col_McCafferty
Thanks for the reply My friend and yes I agree with people playing what they want. I suppose I just wanted it to go really well for dreams. 🤔
However like you say it’s one of those games that will only grow in popularity.🎉
On the spurs v wolves game:
You was unlucky to lose and I hope both our teams will get in those champion league top 4 places 👍☺️
@TheBuzz Actually, Dreams has been trending since last week (with the major youtubers beginning to play it like pewdiepie). If most of its sales are online, how can you fairly judge from this? Its actually been pretty steady overall and picking up since last week. It'll gain more users with continued word of mouth advertising and updates like VR and online multiplayer. It'll probably be off the physical charts next week, but still be going steady. You can keep track of the player count here (counts digital and physical users): https://indreams.me/MmDreamQueen
