Resident Evil 3 is rising from the dead, having first released on PSone over two decades ago. And just to demonstrate how much has changed since 1999, PlayStation Underground has released this brand new 16-minute gameplay video showcasing footage from both iterations of the Capcom survival horror.
Obviously, the PlayStation 4 version is presented from a different perspective, but you can see how elements of Raccoon City have been expanded upon for this modern re-release. To be fair, the original version is no slouch in the visuals department, and those sharp 32-bit polygons have a je ne sais quoi to them. We can probably all agree that the modern incarnation is looking lovely too, though.

I loved the original game, looking forward to seeing all the extra detail they add now.
I'm currently playing Resi 0 and I'd forgotten how awkward the tank controls and camera angles can be. I'm so happy these remakes exist.
It's crazy how many PS1 remakes we've been getting lately.
Not that I mind. I desperately want Xenogears and Legend of Dragoon remakes as well.
I dunno, the fake leather miniskirt seems much more practical.
I hope the game isn't too hard after the updated nemesis ai/moveset
Breaking News: PS4 graphics found to be superior to PS1 graphics.
Video game graphics come a long way.i remember couple days ago i was playing watch dogs 2.and my older brother ask me what movie is that.i told him that its a video game.haha he say wow it look like a movie.haha.word up son
@Enuo I would have never thought that would ever be the case. I'm in a state of shock and need to lie down in a dark room.
Funnily enough it was the first movie of resident evil that introduce me to the zombie genre and the resident evil franchise. I remember my brother then bought a resident evil game for pc which was resident evil 3, good memories.
Nemesis is going to be a pain in the arse isn't he?
@BearsEatBeets you spelt awesome wrong!
I wonder if this will make my PS4 Pro sound like a jet engine like the demo of RE2 Remake does. I haven’t bought the full game because of that, it really takes the enjoyment out of it. Maybe I should invest in a mini fridge to house the console or something.
@GravyThief I played long enough to get the Platinum on RE2 and honestly thought my PS4 Pro was going to explode with how hard and loud the fans were spinning. At some stages, I could barely hear the sound of the game.
RE2 and Death Stranding are two of the worst games for it.
@Ralizah Legend of Dragoon indeed. I had a copy of that for ps1 but my "friend" borrowed it and never returned. Later I realised they were like £90 on ebay and have a feeling that may be why. Luckily they released it as a classic
I feel if Dead Rising and Island weren't so rpg like and more like this they may have done better but glad RE 2 remake and this are finally filling the shoes of zombie shooter with puzzles and exploration.
